Top class experience with The radiology staff and especially Dr D O'Donnell and staff nurse Claire. Everything organised so well in preparation with notifications etc. All so helpful and nice during procedure.
Only small negative was that when trying to log in to account online which I had a few texts requesting me to do...was a bit of a disaster with the IT system and lack of back-up on it. But it didn't effect my overall impression
This is the best hospital I've been to for any procedures. I had my wrist surgery here and the doctors and staff were amazing. I also went to the radiology and neurology department here and it feels like walking doing a nice hotel. Amazing well kept and clean hospital
Making appointment experience shocking at best. They just send you a text without asking you about your availability. They ring you, phone rings one time then they hung up probably expecting you to ring back.I did so and after a long wait the phone was picked up by person I could barely understand a word from, but anyways told me he/she can't make or reschedule appointments and only answering the phone as everyone else is on lunch break.I left my details and received a new appointment details via SMS message ,but in a month time.
As this delay wasn't acceptable I rang back and after 10min wait on the phone I managed to get through to someone who was capable enough to give me a appointment for next week.
Hovewer subpar booking experience was for the private hospital my experience with reception and radiology team was excellent.
I had an experience with Minerva Health at the Hermitage Clinic, and it was one of the most disappointing and frustrating healthcare experiences I’ve had.
The pricing alone is a huge red flag. I was initially quoted €650, which was suddenly “discounted” to €500 with no real explanation. The fact that they could casually apply a 23% discount immediately made the original price feel completely artificial and inflated.
When I later reviewed the receipt in detail, things looked even worse. €260 was charged only just for a GP visit that lasted less than 20 minutes - and this fee was on top of the blood test costs. Minerva Health doesn’t even perform the blood tests themselves; they send you to another clinic. In reality, they seem to act as a middleman, adding a markup to every single step while providing very little actual medical value.
To make matters worse, my appointment was rescheduled at least four times. I was also led to believe I was booking a consultant appointment, only to later discover it was merely a GP consultation. When questioned, I was told their GP was “extremely qualified,” which frankly felt like a marketing line rather than a meaningful explanation -
especially since the visit consisted mainly of reviewing an automatically generated report with system-produced suggestions.
Overall, the entire experience felt misleading, overpriced, and poorly managed. It honestly felt less like paying for healthcare and more like paying for access to an app, administrative handling, and aggressive markups. The lack of transparency around pricing and the minimal value provided made the whole process feel exploitative.
I genuinely regret using this service and strongly advise others to avoid it. I would not recommend Minerva Health to anyone looking for transparent, fair, or genuinely patient-focused care.
Do not go here for a and e, just wait it out in a public Hospital. I really think they only want your money. Was there for nearly 10 hours and it cost me nearly 700 euro after getting investigations and was told I had a bed that they would be keeping me in which the doctor told me and then the lady who was over A&E told me there was no bed but she did not want me to go home because of my situation and I needed to go to a public Hospital. I really wish I had done this first instead of wasting my time and my money on a private hospital who won't even look after you and pass people on to the public hospitals. I spent 2 weeks in hospital, it beggars belief that they sent me off!
Completely incompetent staff with referrals. I had my GP send a referral, I rang the clinic 7 days after the referral was sent and was told to wait at least two weeks if I don’t hear anything back, so I did ring 14 days after the referral was sent, after which the staff told me the referral was rejected on day 1, which they didn’t communicate to my GP. When I rang them on the 7th day, they didn’t think to communicate this to me either. Waste of time and complete lack of care, avoid it.
I attended the Hermitage Clinic Emergency Department with symptoms suggestive of hypoglycaemia (light-headedness, cold extremities, no energy). Blood glucose and ECG were checked, which I appreciate, and were reassuring.
However, the overall experience was disappointing. Despite still feeling unwell and explaining that I live alone and have ADHD/neurodivergence (which can affect physical stress responses), I was told the department was too busy and that I might not be seen. Ultimately, as I wasn’t “admitted”, there was no formal discharge or clear written summary offered without specifically pushing for it.
For an emergency setting — particularly a private ED — I would expect clearer communication, a defined plan for symptomatic patients, and basic written confirmation of attendance and advice for GP follow-up. Being left in a grey area while still symptomatic was unsettling.
I would strongly advise others to consider a public A&E if they need observation or continuity of care, as this service felt very limited under pressure.
