I attended the clinic following a nasty cut on my finger and had a very poor experience with the doctor (I'd just like to say, the reception staff were lovely and quick to check you in).
I had a wound on my finger that had been bleeding since the night before. I had put steri strips on that morning, however I was conscious of the persistent bleeding so I attended the clinic.
After the doctor pulled off the steri strips (rather than soaking them off), the wound reopened. The doctor didn't clean the wound and simply handed me a paper towel. He told me it wouldn't stop bleeding because it was my finger, not the fact the steri strips were just pulled off or maybe because I cut it. He then tried gluing it which didn't stop the bleeding. So he then put steri strips on it and said there we can't see blood. I then continued to ask him about after care i.e. what if it doesn't close, infection, or should I refrain from using that hand in activity. He shrugged and basically told me you do you. He told me it should be fine in 5 days. When I took the plaster off to replace it, I learned the steri strips were on the wrong way, rather than being put on perpendicularly to the cut.
A month later and the cut still hasn't closed properly and €75 is down the drain.
I'm very disappointed with the service I received - I could have done a better job myself!
Absolutely horrible place. I went with my adult son after he was beaten up. They looked at him as if he was beneath them . He explained his injuries one being a head injury, they took his money and when the doctor called him for examination ( she was so condescending) told him they could do nothing for him . I asked her could she clean his many lacerations she told me they can do all that at an a&e.I said but he has already paid so if she was not going to do anything will she refund his 75 euros, which he worked blooming hard for. She said no they do not refund money , and that if he went to the mater a&e he wouldn't have to pay again .I would not go to the mater a&e as its a horrible place. I an so disgusted at the treatment my hard working decent son recieved here today. I would advise people to avoid this rapid injury clinic at all costs
Great place . I had to go up to get my ankle checked after rolling over on it. I knew it wasn't too serious, I rang my doctor who was booked out until the 22nd May 2026 and I was advised to head up here. It was still badly swollen after 6 days. Everything was great check in , xray and Doctor. 5 stars 🌟 highly recommend.
Brilliant experience with all members of staff. The receptionist was quick to provide information, check me in and was really polite. The female doctor that dealt with my small injury was very professional and informative and a pleasure to deal with all around. My xray was also taken with care and I was checked in promptly on the other floor. Very good experience in this clinic overall. Fast moving queue, within 2 hrs after I came in hopping I was sent out with a boot and medical advice with all the examinations :) 👍👍
I attended for a cut that seemed infected. I was able to get antibiotics and proper cleaning much faster than in A&E. I went when they opened and there was only a ten minute wait. The doctor was very kind and I felt very well looked after
I’d give zero stars if possible, I was treated for Cellulitis in both ankles 4 days ago in the MATER HOSPITAL.
Then this morning I had a fall which resulted in a laceration between 2 toes, I attended the Mater Minor Injuries Clinic, to have the wound treated and prevent further infection alongside the cellulitis.
The receptionist went to consult with a doctor, returning to inform me that “I’d already been to A&E in the mater for the cellulitis”…….
4 days previously!
So that meant the doctor in the Rapid Injury Clinic, Refused me treatment because the laceration was on the same limb as the Cellulitis!
Absolute god send this place is the best. Seen and ready to go in 2 hours... if that was A&E I'd probably still be there 😆 but really people should go here instead of hospital let A&E deal with the more serious patients. If you are not in a life threatening condition or having back/spine problem then go here, not the hospital. It really helps the hospital out big time!!!!
Staff was great, clean and safe facilities. Spent 2h from check in to X-ray, consultation and check-out.
P.S. Changed my rating to 1 star as the clinic, despite my emails and call failed to provide X-Rays of my injured arm, so I could not continue the treatment. Waste of time and money!
