I cannot say enough good things about this local pharmacy. The staff are consistently friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. Having a numerous customer relations with Claire, Sinead, Sharon, Samantha and Sarah in particular. They take the time to explain things clearly, never rush you, and always make me feel comfortable and putting me an ease. It’s so reassuring to have a pharmacy where you’re treated like a person, not just a number. A real credit to the community—highly recommended
As a regular customer of this pharmacy, I have always had excellent experiences with the staff. Despite being a very busy shop, the team always finds time to help with any queries and still manages a friendly chat.
The range of products is varied, with plenty of tempting offers, so I never leave empty-handed.
Sharon, who is usually on the cosmetics counter, is extremely knowledgeable about all things pharmacy and cosmetic related and is always happy to advise and help find exactly what you need, whether you are in the shop, over the phone or contacting her through the shops social media.
A fantastic local pharmacy with excellent opening hours and friendly, professional staff 😀
I really appreciate the quality of service in the shop - few times I was asking for the things what wasn’t on stock, but always was possible to order very quick. It is also nice to be welcomed in the place by the smile of the staff ☺️👍
If I could put zero down I most certainly would have. The pharmacist lady is polite and helpful but this pales in contrast to the attitude and manners of the counter staff. Extremely rude and appears to have a superior almost aggressive agitated response to customers. This is what I noticed while seated waiting for my prescription. The way they treated some customer is incredibly and wrong especially someone from a different country. Also, local people who were either very sick or collecting for sick children got the same vulgar attitude. I complained to both counter staff and they gave me the deaf ear and stared me out especially the old lady with the flowery tattoos. Owners please take note as it appears I’m not the only person who has noticed this behaviour. Next step is a complaint to the PSI. Please review your staff behaviour to sick and vulnerable customers.
I hope this review saves someone from a nasty experience. I wish i d read reviews before going back here. I went for something to help with congestion. The pharmacy assistant acted like they had better things to do than help a customer, they didn't listen to what I said, they didn't explain the different versions of the product and really seemed to just want me out of the shop. When I got home I found the product id bought wasn't suitable and I needed a different version, which I'd seen on the shelf. So I went back a second time, and asked for the other version. I wasn't looking for a refund as I 'd opened the first purchase, I just wanted the different version. There was a different assistant but the same attitude. When it turned out they only had the refills for that version, I was treated like I was wasting their time. The rudeness I experienced was completely unwarranted.
In conclusion: only go to Byrnes Pharmacy if you really have to. Be prepared to be treated like sh*t by their truly horrible assistants. Zero stars would be too high.
The only one with any manners at all was the pharmacist herself: while the assistant was looking up what I wanted on the computer, the pharmacist kindly asked "Can I help?" Instead of "Ugh, what do you want?" There's a difference.
The chemist at Byrne Pharmacy in Dundalk is okay and professional, but unfortunately, the experience is let down by the two staff members working there. They come across as rude and unwelcoming, making you feel like they’re doing you a favour just by handing over your prescription. Even more concerning is the way they treat customers differently — I’ve personally witnessed them being polite and friendly to locals while being noticeably rude and dismissive to foreigners. This kind of behaviour does not reflect values of inclusion or respect, and it’s disappointing to see in a healthcare setting
