They used to be a decent place many years ago but now they care more about your money than you as a patient. Be aware they will charge you 5000 Kc ($200) for the consultation and in my case another 8000 Kc ($350) for unnecessary blood tests without telling me what the cost would be. And they DO NOT have any contracts with insurance companies.
If you need an emergency treatment or care it is better to go directly to a Czech hospital. If you need a specialist contact him/ her directly, you would save time and money and you would be better off after all.
SCAMMERS. Same experience as most people: I wish I had read before going. My mother was visiting me and needed a prescription to buy a new inhaler for asthma as hers ran out. She has a cold which is why, preventevely, she preferred having an inhaler. We were told she needs a prescription here and the prescription would cost 2000 in this place. Once there though, they made her some unnecessary blood tests and made her buy a bunch of medicines she doesn't need. The bill was 11800. I can't believe they are legally open.
I took my son for an ear infection while on vacation in Prague. The clinic took a blood test and prescribed and immediately administered medications without first informing of the costs and asking whether I agreed. Even worse was the stuck up doctor. When I asked questions to make sure I understood the dosages and frequencies of the medications, he made it clear that he thought I should have understood his initial explanation and went on to explain again to my son (sitting next to me), claiming that "he'll understand".
I went to a pharmacy for a UTI on 10/08/25, but they would not provide medication and instead gave me a card for Dr. Kusy. At the consultation, I had to urinate in a non-sterile cup, which may have caused an incorrect test result—or it may not have been tested at all—and I was given broad-spectrum antibiotics. I was charged 14,300 CZK (€600). My insurance reimbursed only 500 CZK (€20), leaving me 13,800 CZK (€580) out of pocket. The treatment did not resolve my condition, and I developed a yeast infection.
Took too long to see me given the condition I was in. Told me the charge would be 6900 Koruna but up-charged with me without disclosing the additional costs until it was time to pay (9000 plus/approx $400 US). Gave me some super fancy crutches with reflectors on them and performed a quick blood test, no meds no nothing. The cost of the time with the doctor (all of 10 minutes) who sent me to the hospital was a third of the cost for an 8 day stay in the hospital. The notes he took meant nothing because the hospital had to reevaluate me anyway. Also they claim to be open 24 hours, but I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone after 4 pm after numerous attempts.
Total rip--off to catch out unsuspecting tourists. Alas, I was too sick to call them out before I left.
They must be making a mint. Moral of the story --if in doubt about the seriousness of your condition go to the hospital. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
This “health service” is more than private and don’t collaborate with ANY insurance, you will get to know this just after when they ask you a crazy amount of money. I am EU I have my health insurance and my prescription made from my personal doctor should be accepted by the bilateral agreement among our countries, I was sent to this doctor from the Dr.Max pharmacy in Narodní, they have business cards of this doctor prepared to send you there. So the pharmacy and the doctor obviously collaborate. At the pharmacy they unlawfully refused my prescription and sent me here (calling it the “doctor for foreigners”, like it was a normal doctor because you know, every doctor in Czechia is also for foreigners) telling me they could help me sort out my prescription. Of course it was not true, they just want your money and force to make more tests despite I was already prescribed the thing by my doctor. I give you an advice, if you need English speaking doctors go to the nearby hospital Nemocnice Na Františku, many doctors speak English and they are accostumed to foreigners, you will save a lot of money and get just what you need. I am going to report this also to the authorities because it is unbelievable how they set up a system to take advantage of foreigners in need of health care. Lucky I speak Czech so they didn’t fool me.
My experience with Dr Stan was amazing. I am feeling so ill, and he was so caring and thorough with his examination. He can speak excellent English. I was there for an hour and he provided me with medication and detailed explanations of how to take and what each one was for. It was expensive but considering how much we’ve spent on getting here, this medication and consult is so worth it. He also provided me with an international medical certificate and receipt specifically noting it was for my travel insurance claim. I am so glad we walked past his doors and he could see me!
Thank you Dr Stan!!
