I received a letter from Specsavers stating I was due for another vision test so made an appointment. This took place a few days later. There was very little waiting time in store for my eye test which was very efficiently done. There was no change in my vision but I did need two pairs of glasses as my old ones were old and uncomfortable. Time and patience were taken by the staff member helping me to chose new frames I was happy with. My lens prescription was talked through carefully and my new glasses were ready a week later. Time was taken to fit them comfortably. My whole experience with Specsavers was efficient and comfortable.
I had a wonderful but rather eventful Bank Holiday Weekend in Edinburgh for a 10Km race around Arthur’s Seat as part of the Edinburgh Marathon Featival. First the good news …great weather, great event from Myrunningandfitness maicon & a PB! However Sunday 24/6 visit to Specsavers, Shandwick Place, Edinburgh for an urgent eye test due to change of vision in one eye led outstanding customer care from Arene & Elva & to an emergency referral to Edinburgh Eye Hospital NHS Lothian …more great care. I had an excellent experience at Specsavers Shandwick Place. The staff were friendly, professional, and very welcoming from the moment I arrived. The optician took the time to thoroughly explain the eye examination process and addressed all my concerns with patience and clarity.
The appointment was well-organised, with minimal waiting time, and the overall environment was clean and comfortable. I also appreciated the helpful guidance provided when discussing my eye health and any next steps.
Overall, the service was efficient, reassuring, and of a very high standard, which is why I would highly recommend this branch to friends and family.
I had a really great experience at Specsavers on Shandwick Place. I called in because I was having discomfort in one of my eyes, and they were able to offer me an appointment quickly, which I really appreciated.
From the moment I arrived, I was seen almost immediately. The optometrist was very professional and took the time to explain everything clearly, including the use of eye drops before starting the examination. The eye test was very thorough—they carried out detailed checks, took images, and made sure everything was properly assessed.
Afterwards, the ophthalmologist was equally professional and kind. She explained my condition clearly, answered my questions, and reassured me throughout the process. I left feeling confident, well taken care of, and reassured that my eye health was in good hands.

The staff were welcoming and professional as soon as I arrived, and I was seen promptly at my appointment time. The optometrist explained each part of the eye test clearly and took the time to answer my questions without rushing me, which made me feel comfortable and confident in the advice given. When choosing my glasses, the team were patient and genuinely helpful, offering honest recommendations based on what suited me rather than trying to upsell. They also clearly explained the pricing and options available, so there were no surprises. Overall, the service felt friendly, efficient, and highly professional, which is why I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the store to friends and family
Good facilities, everything on time. But I did feel that the recommendation from my medical practice to get that exam there wasn't correct. Which I understand is not a Specsavers problem per se, and more a NHS sending people there.
I would highly recommend Specsavers Shandwick Place to friends and family that’s why I’m giving a 10/10. My recent visit was excellent from start to finish. Louise and John handled my registration smoothly and made me feel welcome right away with their friendly and efficient service. The digital retinal photography was done professionally by Abdul – he explained the procedure clearly and put me at ease. What really stood out was my eye test with Navneet. She did a very great job and took the time to explain in detail what has changed with my eyes since my previous test. She compared the results, pointed out the specific differences, and helped me understand exactly why those changes had happened. Her explanation was clear, patient, and very informative – I left feeling much more knowledgeable about my eye health. All the staff I interacted with were professional, caring, and genuinely helpful. The whole experience was smooth, thorough, and stress-free. Specsavers Shandwick Place continues to provide outstanding customer care, and I will definitely be returning and recommending them to others.
