I visited the SK:N Clinic Manchester in January for a Hydra Facial. I booked the Platinum treatment which was £189 as a treat for me birthday present to myself. However, I was quite disappointed when I arrived as it wasn't the experience I had expected. The woman I had was very lovely and great at her job, but I don't feel like I had the treatment I paid for. The platinum package was described to me as "platinum- £189 includes all of signature and deluxe along with lymphatic drainage massage on the face and neck and a personalised booster serum that is personalised to your skin." I knew I hadn't received the full package as I remembered it included "red and blue light therapy" which I did not receive. I felt award to ask as I didn't want to be incorrect and question someone work, as they had stated when I arrived that I was booked for Platinum. I am sure that I only received signature which is priced at £139. They don't publish on their website (or if they do it is hard to find) the details of each level of facial, only over phone call and message when you ask. I was also put off as 2 weeks leading up to the facial I had received multiple phone calls from SK:N asking me to confirm my appointment, I confirmed 3 times, I also paid a £50 deposit when I booked it so I felt the deposit and 3 confirmations was too much! I will not be returning or would encourage anyone else to go as the prices are extremely high and you don't get what you pay for compared to independent beauty therapists that charge half the price and give you double the treatment. I wish I would've complained and tried to get my money back but I haven't been in the country.

I especially want to commend Faith personally. She genuinely cares about her clients, takes the time to make you feel comfortable and always goes the extra mile. Her attention to detail and kindness really stand out, and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone considering treatment.
Having struggled with acne for years I finally made an appointment to see a dermatologist and was excited to start taking steps toward healing my skin. Unfortunately i left feeling deflated and extremely dissappointed. To spend such a huge amount of money and wait for a month from the time of booking to be in the room for less than 4 minutes with a specialist who offered no advice, asked almost no questions and barely looked at me apart from to shove an ipad in my face to take pictures feels like some sort of prank. The lack of empathy and depth of inquiry for somebody coming to you for advice for a condition that can affect your confidence and quality of life was truly upsetting and I cried outside. Accutane was suggested as a treatment but not discussed in detail (hard to discuss anything in detail in 4 minutes) and I left with a prescription for a topical gel that my doctor has given me on the NHS (for free) 3 times already that stops working when the course of treatment is over. I feel as though I was given two choices: accutane or the gel and to go on accutane requires intensive health checks first and isn't an avenue I want to explore. I thought I would receive recommendations for products to use as well as lifestyle advice and maybe learn something about my skin type or a new way I can try to heal my skin however I feel as though I was just another appointment to get out of the way and another chunk of money to make from someone's suffering. If people come to you as a specialist with a medical problem they are struggling with, I truly feel they should be made to feel listened to and not rushed or dismissed, that's why people go private.
To pay an additional £40 on top of the appointment fee for something I have been prescribed by a doctor 3 times already for free feels like I have actually been robbed. My gp has offered more sympathy and solutions despite clearly not being as well funded as this clinic and in the future I will not be coming back here for treatment or advice as I left with neither and was £250 out of pocket.
Having now read some reviews i can see that this is an ongoing problem specifically for acne appointments and that other people have left feeling the same as me. As a wellness clinic I truly hope people start getting the care they deserve from you.
Very poor laser hair removal service from one of the practitioners, who did the bare minimum for it to appear like a treatment, and wasn't responsive to my concerns that they were less thorough than my previous treatments, and I ended up with poor results compared to my many treatments from other practitioners. Their policy doesn't allow you to make sure you don't get the same practitioner, so avoid this place completely. The company tried to remove my review on other platforms so I'm posting it here too.
Avoid if you can. If you're a lady with skin concerns big or small, don't waste your time and money. They will charge you through the nose and offer terrible service in return. I visited yesterday and regret booking and seeing the doctor, who showed zero care or interest in me as a patient, but also as a person... Had really shocking experience
Shocking customer experience. Turned up for my appointment in Wilmslow, but it had closed down without warning despite having an sms reminder for that location that morning. To this date still haven’t been refunded for my appointment and it was over 5 weeks ago. They have however offered a refund of £2 for fuel. £2! Shocking.
I paid £50 to speak to a specialist because I was getting so upset trying different things for my acne scars that weren’t working. I thought that if I was paying, I would be able to get some expert advice. I don’t have lots of money, I use all spare money I do have to try and fix my skin so I really had hoped this would help. Instead, I felt as though I was the one suggesting things that might help. Many of the suggestions were ‘yes perhaps’. She in the end suggested CO2 laser, which I had enquired about originally. I was then told, they don’t actually do it in Manchester. She took photos and emailed someone in Chester, with the response ‘I have emailed, but we’re busy so it’s unlikely she will even call you back’. I feel really upset that I paid £50 to come away more confused as to what I MIGHT need, to find out they don’t do it in Manchester as advertised and they don’t really care anyway as they are too busy. I would not recommend these at all. And after speaking to other clinics after, I was told they were not recommended. Avoid.
