Went to the epau for an early scan as experienced some bleeding and was really disappointed with the service. As someone who’s previously worked for QEH for over 7 years, I knew service isn’t the best, but you’d expect people with compassion to work in EPAU. Not once did they ask me if I was ok when I was visibly anxious. The sonographer looked as though I was bothering her that I was there. She was having difficulty scanning me and kept telling me like it was somehow my fault. She was also extremely passive aggressive to my husband. She also had a look on top of my abdomen, and she pressed extremely hard, without warning. Didn’t even ask me at any point if I was ok or she should stop when I was visibly distressed. If you’re going to work in EPAU, or in any maternity facility, then learn compassion. You have no idea what a couple might have gone through to get to this stage, and if they’ve experienced bleeding, understand that it’s a scary place to be. Be nice. It won’t hurt you. Do the job with compassion or just leave.

Just like to say a big thank you to the lead colorectal surgeon Mr Sorelli and the Endoscopy Team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich. They were effective and efficient and did their best for my husband from the beginning, the referral from our good GP, and then the procedures, and then the final letter of recommendation. We are grateful for all their professionalism and care, especially Mr Sorelli, without his advice for a gastroscopy, we would not have known what caused my husband’s condition. Thank you again, we, the local people, are lucky to have your service.

I was here twice. First time - Sept 2024 , blue lighted in after a RTA. Brilliant staff and facilities . I was in ICU for 6 days then the surgical ward for another 20 with a stoma after emergency operation. Then back again in Jan2026 for stoma reversal. Op went fine and all was good but then got lung infection and complications and was back in ICU again and then the rest of Jan recovering. Big up to all the surgeons and all the wonderful nursing staff / particularly Brenda- on ward 15. I hope never to go back !!!! Not because of the hospital but because I don’t want anything going wrong with me again . lol

Great team of doctors, nurses and specialists. A family member has Parkinson’s and they’ve been nothing but amazing, I wish I remembered all the names as they deserve to be recognised for their incredible dedication and care, Dr Car, Helen from palliative team, the neuro team, the nurses and the entire support team. Thank you so much, I know there’s no cure for this, but you guys are trying your best/ many different things to minimise symptoms and give him as much comfort as possible, instead of just giving up and discharging him. I wish you all the success and fulfillment in your careers.

I gave birth to my first child at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich on 12/02/2026 and unfortunately it was a very traumatic experience for me. From the beginning I felt that my concerns were not taken seriously. When I arrived I asked to be placed in the birth centre so I could receive an epidural if needed, but I was put in the delivery suite instead. Later, when my contractions became extremely strong, I repeatedly requested an epidural and had to wait around five hours before being moved to the appropriate place to receive it. During labour I was given completely conflicting information about my cervical dilation. One midwife told me I was 4 cm, later another said 6 cm, and after that I was told I was only 2 cm. This was extremely confusing and distressing, especially as a first-time mother. My waters were broken and I was later given oxytocin. When it came time to push, I had an epidural and could not clearly feel contractions, so I asked the midwife to guide me using the monitor so I would know when to push. Unfortunately I felt very unsupported during this stage, which lasted over two hours. I felt confused and left without guidance during one of the most important moments of my life. Eventually a doctor became involved and my baby was delivered using forceps and an episiotomy. After the birth I suffered a severe postpartum haemorrhage and lost around 2.4 litres of blood, which required a blood transfusion. During this time staff attempted many times to insert needles to take blood and administer treatment, but they struggled to access my veins and left my arms and hands heavily bruised. The entire experience was extremely frightening and emotionally distressing for me. I was crying while in the hospital and I am still struggling emotionally weeks later. I often wake up at night feeling scared and remembering the experience. I understand that childbirth can be unpredictable and complications can happen, but I believe communication, support and compassion from staff are essential. Sadly, this was not the experience I had. I hope the hospital takes feedback like this seriously and works to improve the care and support provided to mothers in labour so that other women do not have to go through a similar experience.

My baby and I went to the dolphin,Queen Elizabeth hospital, Woolwich this morning.I checked in half hour before the appointment, then it was 5 minutes past the appointment so I went to the reception just to double check if the doctor has been informed. There was a young lady said it just 5 minutes past your appointment and staring at me.why you working with this attitude? Is this not your work? I just to double check, what's wrong?

I wouldn't take a sick dog to this place. It's dangerous doctors think better than all love to punish and argue with seriously ill patients. If you want to leave go somewhere else. Had the worst experience of my life I've never felt so unaided and hated before. Highly dangerous toxic environment. Gemini has advised I call 999 while on a ward here speaks volumes.

I was in Ward 4, Bay 4, Bed 4 December 2025. Really had some wonderful staff. They played music, joined in singing with the patients. The only downside was the 20 hour wait for transport to transfer me to St George's. I really don't want to have to go back to QE but if i did I'd want to be back on this ward.
