Avoid London Dermatology Clinic. My experience was not just disappointing - it felt deliberately misleading.
I called 2 days ahead specifically to confirm the full cost of removing a benign mole. I was told, clearly and repeatedly, that the price would be £295. I challenged this on the call to ensure it was accurate and each time I was reassured that £295 was the total cost. No mention of “starting from,” no mention of additional fees, no caveats.
Based on that, I booked.
On the day, I travelled over an hour (leaving my wife and two young children at home), arrived early and then sat waiting for 45 minutes past my appointment time with zero communication. Reception (offsite and terrible attitude) seemed completely disorganised and when I asked when I would be seen she had to “text” someone to even find out what was happening. Turns out I wasn’t signed in, even though she told me to go and wait.
When I was finally seen, the doctor confirmed the mole was benign and could be removed immediately. Straightforward.
Then came the real reason for the visit.
I was told the practice manager would “discuss pricing,” and suddenly the story changed:
* £249 just for the consultation
* Total cost for removal: £1,185
When I challenged this and explained exactly what I had been told on the phone, the response was essentially: “It’s from £295.”
This was never stated beforehand. Not once.
It is extremely difficult not to view this as a bait-and-switch, quote a low price to get patients through the door, then present the real (much higher) cost once you’re already there, invested in the appointment, and under pressure.
To make matters worse, any attempt to raise concerns, about the delay was brushed off with dismissive “no worries” responses. No accountability, no real apology, no effort to put things right. A weak apology was offered when I said I wasn’t going to go ahead.
This is a private clinic on Harley Street charging premium prices. The absolute baseline expectation is transparency and professionalism. In this case, I experienced neither.
If you value your time and want honest, upfront pricing, look elsewhere. In hindsight the volume of 1-star reviews is indicative of this practice and their approach.
I had an incredibly expert, professional, fast, painless and smooth surgery (2x mole removals) experience with Dr. Izamov at the London Dermatology Clinics on Thursday, 30th April 2026.
The discussion we had during the initial consultation was very clear and Dr. Izamov has answered all the skin-related questions I had and provided great advice. I was able to have the mole removal surgery done immediately after the consultation, on the same day, which has been incredibly helpful for me and time-efficient, which I appreciate a lot.
During the surgery, Dr. Izamov has been very careful to ensure that no (or minimal) scarring will be visible after the skin heals post-surgery and I greatly appreciate this. He also made sure I was fully comfortable during the whole procedure, which has made the whole process completely stress-free for me. I have not experienced any problems at all during or after the surgery and I am incredibly happy with how he has performed both mole removals! Great job.
The nurse has also been very friendly, kind and has provided me with all the information necessary for post-surgery wound aftercare in a very clear way. She has been very professional and has done everything with great attention to detail, expertise and care.
I totally recommend Dr. Izamov to anyone considering to get their moles checked and/or get mole removal surgery in London. Amazing experience - thank you very much!
Did the job quickly with no fuss. But BE CAREFUL ABOUT THEIR PRICING! "From £295" turned out to be £1,700 for a 3 minute procedure. They say £245 for the consultation (2 minutes) refundable against the procedure. They then tell you the price AFTER the £245 'consultation'. They have a simple charging scale that they don't publish, but if they did you could easily know what you were in for and could shop around. This feels a bit scammy to me.
Please avoid this business. Very dishonest pricing. I contacted them twice to clarify that the procedure for draining a cyst would cost no more than £295.. When I arrived, the doctor said he would remove the cyst. This is very poor practice when there is an active infection and is not medically sound. I was then told I needed to speak to the business manager to agree pricing. I was then quoted £700 just to drain a cyst because it was a large cyst!! I wasn't asked any questions about the size of the cyst when I phoned earlier. The whole experience was awful and they are very unprofessional. I left without the procedure being done. Avoid this so called clinic!
Misleading pricing and poor time management
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Harley Street Healthcare. I booked an appointment based on their advertisement for ganglion cyst removal starting from £290.
I value transparency, so prior to booking, I called to ask for a realistic price bracket. I specifically asked if I should expect the cost to double or triple the "starting at" price. I was told "absolutely not." However, my experience at the clinic was the complete opposite:
• Wait Time: The clinic was running 30 minutes behind schedule for my consultation.
• The Quote: After being told the price wouldn't even triple, I was quoted £1,299—nearly 4.5 times the advertised starting rate.
• The Procedure: I was told the standard time is 45 minutes, but because the doctor is "really good," it would only take 20 minutes. While I appreciate efficiency, this did nothing to justify the massive price hike from the initial phone conversation.
I feel the pricing is misleading and my time was wasted.
If you are looking for honest pricing and punctuality, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Beware of booking a consultation here--the prices for services are much higher than you might expect, and they will not provide you with a range of prices over the phone. If you book an appointment, you will pay 250 GBP to be told that the procedure costs 1400+. Do your best to estimate the price yourself so that you don't pay 250 for a 5 min consultation. They were kind enough to offer a reduced fee, but I declined to have the procedure mainly because the clinic seemed disorganised and somewhat unprofessional.
Everyone there was very nice, however my £249 consultation (for lipoma) was not exactly thorough -- no palpation, ultrasound or measurement etc.
After a very quick chat, I was ushered into another room, and told that they could remove it there and then --- for around £5,500.
This is actually more than a friend of mine recently paid to have silicone breast implants at a prestigious North London private hospital. I did not take up this offer and feel that it was a very easy £249 earned for them.
Doctor Charakida examined my issue properly and advised me as well as prescribed me medication that was required for my healing. She is professional and cares for her patients. That is very clear. I couldn’t be happier with her consultation and diagnosis. She used her professional experience and judgement to check me over. I am now healing quickly thanks to her. She also gladly examined my daughter even though we had not booked an appointment for her and gave us very good advice. Her tips have been invaluable. Thank you
