I was quoted $3,500 without insurance, but somehow $5,000 with insurance. That alone didn’t make sense. When I asked for clarification and a proper breakdown, I never received one.
I am married and have joint insurance coverage, yet the front office did not properly run my married insurance plan. Instead, I was repeatedly told that I “aged out at 26,” which is irrelevant when you are legally married and covered under a spouse’s policy. This showed a concerning lack of understanding of how insurance coordination works.
When you’re discussing thousands of dollars for orthodontic treatment, accuracy and knowledge are essential. Unfortunately, the pricing confusion and lack of follow-up made me lose confidence in moving forward here.
After reviewing the most recent feedback posted this year, I noticed a pattern of negative experiences. In hindsight, I should have paid closer attention.
I ultimately chose Smilebliss Orthodontics (512 E Southern Ave, Tempe, AZ 85282), where I was quoted $2,900 without insurance. They properly reviewed my insurance, and my coverage handled the majority of the cost — leaving me with only $900 out of pocket.
I have MetLife insurance through American Airlines, and they clearly take care of their employees by offering strong benefits. When processed correctly, the coverage worked exactly as it should.
They answered every question clearly and treated my concerns seriously. The difference in professionalism and customer service was significant.
Patients deserve transparency, accurate insurance processing, and respectful communication
I don't even know where to start buuuut here igo...
So lil miss LATE (AKA ME) walks in at 6:05pm with no appointment scheduled and was told they only see walk-ins from 9am-5pm.. I walked out so discouraged and it seemed like my tooth pain increased with that disappointment. Something told me to call and ask can an exception be made as I am pregnant and I just couldn't take the pain anymore. I was told yes to come back and they will see what they could do. So I see my assistant first Miss ESME she was extremely sweet, professional, and helpful. Then entered DR. MAULE.. again don't know where to start... Since I'm not a regular patient because I'm pregnant he did everything he could to make me feel comfortable, even while I waited. He gave me several options and listened when I choose the one I felt was best for me. Let's not forget they were about to close shortly. He prepared for a last minute, pregnant person extraction and did it flawlessly! Didn't feel a thing. Hecc I didn't feel anything about 5mins after meeting him as he gave me medicine almost as soon as I sat down to make me comfy while I waited as they prepated to do the extraction. Im soooooo appreciative.. idont know how else to say it,, put it, or explain how they changed my whole day as I couldn't imagine if I would have had to wait any longer for help and thanks to them I didn't have to and they very well could have made me wait. Again both my assistant and DR was so professional, caring (about me and my baby in my tummy HA!), and made a kind human exception rather than just stick to there rules. Thank you,, thank you,, thank you thaaaaaank you alllllllll. I can't say it enough! O and I didn't get the name or didn't know who the person was that even asked the dentist for the exception for me to come back but I wouldn't even have been back at the office if they wouldn't have asked for the exception in the first place! Just overall great,, caring staff! Thank you all again! I hope you all the best and to get all the blessings in your professional field and lives! Keep up the great work!
This location has always been amazing! Love the customer service here and the prices! Always flexible with me whenever it comes to finances! Alexis and dr maule were amazing !
My doctor, Dr. Mario is someone who is kind and generous with his patients, he doesn’t make you feel ashamed! My assitant Iracema is also someone soft spoken and very kind with me in my process.

Never usually leave reviews but risas dental has never failed me! Would for sure recommend they have amazing staff and also never had any real big issues with my braces everything has come out amazing and always been treated with care there..
The customer service in the front is great but once you get to the back it’s horrible. I was given anesthesia the dentist left came back 30 minutes later start working on my tooth I felt the pain immediately, Added more anesthesia left the room went back to work on another patient came back and applied more anesthesia and I was still in pain. Ive had plenty of teeth pulled this is the worst one ever. Three hours later my mouth is still bleeding he didn’t send me home with no gauze. I highly recommend go to another location….
