NEW REVIEW BASED ON MY VISIT ON 7/2/26
I never thought I'd be updating my review because when I first came to 14th Medical Arts in February 2025, I had such an amazing experience that I left a glowing Google review. At the time, I was going through one of the hardest periods of my life medically. I had physical therapy, neurological testing, cardiac testing, radiology, and many other appointments here. I was in this office almost every week, and every visit reminded me why I chose this practice. The staff was kind, compassionate, professional, and always made me feel welcome.
That's why I returned for my annual physical without hesitation.
Unfortunately, my visit on July 2, 2026, started in a way I never expected.
My appointment was at 10:40 a.m. I arrived on time, but the QR code check-in wasn't working. When I approached the front desk, I was met with a cold and dismissive attitude. I had already completed my paperwork online, but I was immediately told there was a problem with my PCP. I explained that this office has been my primary care provider for over a year and kindly asked them to check my chart because I knew my insurance listed the correct office. Instead of investigating, I was simply told to call my insurance.
I spent 45 minutes on the phone while my appointment time came and went. I repeatedly asked if they could at least check me in while I waited on hold, but the answer was always no.
The frustrating part wasn't the insurance issue, it was how it was handled. When my insurance representative finally answered, they immediately confirmed that 14th Medical Arts was already listed as my PCP. After providing a reference number, the front desk finally realized everything had been correct all along. That delay could have been avoided if someone had simply verified my information instead of assuming I was wrong.
I also noticed another patient dealing with a similar issue. Problems happen, but kindness and professionalism make all the difference.
I do want to recognize the receptionist seated on the far left side of the front desk (closest to the entrance, with light skin and dreadlocks) that morning. Although she couldn't change the policy, she treated me with kindness, respect, and professionalism. She listened, explained the situation calmly, and never made me feel like an inconvenience.
Unfortunately, my experience with the two receptionists seated in the center and on the far right side was completely different. They weren't wearing name tags, but management can easily identify them by reviewing the cameras between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. My concern isn't the policy—it's the way patients are spoken to.
I was honestly ready to leave and find another primary care provider.
Then everything changed.
Felix immediately recognized me from my previous visits and welcomed me back with a smile. Even the physical therapy staff remembered me. Those simple gestures reminded me why I loved coming here.
Then I met my new PCP, Dr. Luyten.
What an incredible physician. He listened without rushing me, answered every question, explained my treatment plan thoroughly, and showed genuine compassion. I had been so upset that my blood pressure was elevated, but thanks to his calm approach, I left feeling reassured, respected, and confident in my care.
A special thank you to Olina, who drew my blood and performed my EKG with kindness and professionalism, and to Eddy, who scheduled my follow-up appointments, explained my referrals and medications, and made sure I understood everything before I left.
Dr. Luyten, Felix, Olina, and Eddy are the reason I decided to stay with this practice. They represent exactly what patient care should look like.
I sincerely hope management recognizes these outstanding employees while also addressing the customer service at the front desk. If my visit had ended there, I would have left this practice. Instead, this incredible team reminded me why I trusted this office from the very beginning.
Thank you for reminding me that exceptional healthcare is still possible.

There are some very kind and empathetic Doctors working here, but the inner workings of this establishment is truly sad. I came into this office to see if I have a diagnosis for fibromyalgia. I understand that multiple test have to be taken to rule out if it could possibly be another medical issue. However, the first Doctor I had an appointment with in August and was discussing my symptoms with, and I thought would be the main medical professional I would be communicating with moving forward in this process of gaining a diagnosis or not. I have never spoken with again, or had a followup. Since the ending of August I have had literally 22 appointments seen multiple Doctors and still no answer to what I first came in this clinic for. As other reviewers have mentioned this place will run your insurance up! So please make sure you know what is the reason for certain test being ordered. As well, certain medical assistant's within this company need to be educated on how to communicate with clients in a respectful and professional level. Being yelled at and having the phone hung up on me this past weekend, did it for me. After I read other reviews stating this establishment's incompetency and how they treat their clients. That is all I needed to know! Take your chances here if you want to.
AVOID THIS PLACE! They told me I would not be charged for the initial visit and then they sent me the bill and refused to cancel it. I waited an hour during the initial visit but only saw the provider for a total of not even 15 mins (im being generous) and I got nothing out of it but theyre billing for 45+ mins, all they did was take my blood pressure and weight and then scheduled me for more tests which I chose not to follow up on because I saw the other bad reviews and the office felt dirty.
I spoke to the "billing" Dept. and the lady was very rude from the start before she even got to hearing the situation. She just kept saying she couldnt do anything even though I was completely misinformed, told me to go in person to complain but that they wouldnt be able to remove the charges anyway and then she hung up on me.
This review is for physical therapy. Great, knowledgeable professionals who seem to truly care. Make sure to ask questions and take an active role in your treatment!
Irresponsible staff do not communicate with patients. My experience was very stressful. I was not informed that a special kit had not arrived to the office and I arrived to pick the kit up and was told that they had none. But they sure did charge the insurance for the so called visit which should not be considered a visit in the 1st place.
The reception staff was very caring and attentive. The medical professionals are also great. Accessible and professional. Janae was really caring and attentive, and the other gals at reception were just as great . They accept Medicaid
Showed up at 8:45am for 9:20am appointment hoping I could be out by 10:15pm to get to work. They could not manage to bring a doctor out to see me within that timespan, so now I have to leave having accomplished nothing, still feeling sick, and late for work.
Atrocious experience.
This is an abhorrent situation. I walked in and was immediately concerned. I had read incredibly positive reviews about the provider I was there to see. The facility itself needs a full renovation: the floors are terrible, the chairs are old, some ripped and out of a banquet hall from 20 plus years ago and the entire staffing from an operations standpoint is a mess. They were training a new staff member, which is fine, but two people never thought to let me know before I waited for 2 hours that the provider I was there to see was not there?!?! They then proceeded to have one wait in two different areas in the hallway two feet from a bathroom. The first medical assistant was unable to articulate their symptom checklist and quite upset that one was not provided to me to complete. Had she handed it to me, I would have saved us both the trouble. She was then concerned that I could not email my labs and reports to her due to a system compatibility issue. She brings in the senior administrator for the office, as per his name tag, who had spent my 30 plus minute initial wait chatting with another patient who is clearly a regular and then aggressively asks me why I can't send them. Then, my blood pressure is 115/44 and it is not deemed it necessary to retake it, even after I ask and express concern. The Medical Assistant tells me to go downstairs where I wait another 90 minutes for my appointment to not see the provider as he wasn't there. My appointment was with a doctor, this is an NP (Roa) who while under the guise of being friendly, had a nonchalant air about how none of these things are his problem or concern when I expressed concern about the office and my blood pressure. This is after her insists he called my name but I didn't hear him- he said half of my name once, in a low volume - in a long hallway and then went to the next patient. Since he wasn't the provider I was there to see, I didn't think it was him. Why he didn't look to see where I was considering I had been checked and vitals were taken is beyond me. Clearly, he gets paid by patients seen. The Medical Assistant who drew my blood wasn't wearing two gloves which I didn't realize until after the fact. There were also different scented candles burning unattended throughout the clinic adding to the sense this is an unsafe and neglected situation. Mind blowing. My BP was taken a couple more times so I could ensure I wasn't at risk for a stroke (keep in mind by BP is stable and 100/70. An utter befuddling and negative experience that makes you wonder who management is and how they are functioning. Stay away- all the first time patients plan to and openly said so in the hallway as we sat for 2 hours. Columbus Medical Arts: shame on you.
