Came to realize that my review was posted to the upper east side location but this is the location I went to:
Very pleasant and professional experience. The front desk ladies (Karima, Christina, and Denise) and gentleman (Peter) were very inviting and courteous made sure I was comfortable as I waited to be seen. Alexandra N.,Teresa and Julian were so professional and the procedure was painless and looks fabulous. Thank you guys for everything and I will definitely be referring all my friends and family to this location.
I want to share my experience with my dermatologist. After about six months, he truly worked a miracle on my skin. I feel so much better and I’m very satisfied.
I’m a very demanding person, but everything has been perfect from the first visit until today. The staff is welcoming and professional.
Now I go out without makeup, just following his advice.
10/10, highly recommend.
It’s a very clean and stylish and cozy office with a welcoming staff. The doctor was very sweet and answered the questions I had. She also checked me out very thoroughly.
I'm not sure what has happened to the quality of care here but after years of service I think I'll have to move on. These problems started a year ago when my regular doctor left and I was not notified. I showed up for my scheduled appointment and was told that they didn't have any record of me and I must be at the wrong location. Apparently they had canceled my appointment without informing me and after I argued let me see the doctor who was there (charging me a higher cost than I had paid for previous appointments).
I was put on medication that I was told would be for life but every month that I'm up for a refill I have to chase them down and get told I have to come in. It was finally confirmed that they expect me to come in and pay for a consultation fee every 3 months to continue my lifetime medication.
I went in for a laser treatment at the beginning of the year and am being billed again for a fee I already paid at the time of my appointment. I had multiple calls and they refused to fix it so I have to go see them in person to fix that issue too.
Multiple times I have gone in for an appointment and was forced to pay a balance on the spot that I was never sent a bill for and they refused to provide a detailed bill at the appointment. I can only hope considering this most recent billing error that those balances were correct.
I gave 2 stars because the doctor I saw last, Grace Jarrett and my previous doctor were wonderful. Unfortunately, it isn't worth the administrative nightmare to see them.
Taking my business elsewhere I have been a patient of this practice for over 5 years, but unfortunately my recent experiences have been extremely disappointing and concerning.
There is a serious lack of communication and coordination between their offices, even though they are all part of the same practice. Each time I call, I’m told someone needs to “call me back” because no one seems to know what another office has done.
My biggest concern is that a prescribed Botox treatment (for a medical condition, not cosmetic use) from over a year ago has gone missing or cannot be accounted for. At the same time, my insurance company has contacted me multiple times because additional orders for Botox were being placed, which raises serious concerns about how medications are being managed.
To make matters worse, my most recent appointment was canceled last minute due to a billing issue that was caused by the office submitting a blank claim to my insurance in 2024. As someone with lupus, I rely on consistent medical care, and having my appointment canceled for an issue that was not my fault was unacceptable.
After years of being a patient, I have never experienced this level of confusion, lack of professionalism, and disorganization. Unfortunately, I no longer feel comfortable returning to this practice and am still trying to locate my missing medication.
I would strongly recommend that this office improve its internal communication, billing practices, and medication tracking procedures to avoid putting other patients in similar situations.
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Andrea Persaud. She is extremely knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable throughout my treatment. I am very grateful for her care and professionalism.
I recently visited the Dermatologist Specialist in Harlem on Broadway and was impressed with the exceptional service. Receptionist Shirley demonstrated exemplary professionalism and courtesy. Jade, the medical assistant, also displayed outstanding professionalism in gathering information about my condition. I was Particularly grateful for PA Raikija Allen’s empathetic understanding of the mental impact of Eczema and Psoriasis. Her expert care was truly a blessing. I highly recommend this dermatologist specialist, I also received goodie’s for my condition. Rating them 10/10.
One of the best physician assistants in dermatology is at this office and I met my wonderful former doctor here, Dr Peranteau who is at other offices now. Unfortunately I can't see these practitioners anymore due to incompetent and unscrupulous billing practices and their false claims I owe them money and inability to do the most basic insurance communications and patient communications. So be aware of shady business practices in the form of double booking (there's literally receptionist instructions on this in full view at other offices), you may wait a very long time though the Upper Harlem location is far better than say a busy location than Sullivan Street, and basically also double billing (my insurance paid them then they tried to make me pay the same bill vs do a check tracer and the check probably got lost due to them putting different addresses on claims), and potential long waits. There's some form of weaponized AI-driven helplessness with the billing department and know the practice is more PE driven than patient care focused. Doing anything beyond basic skin evaluations risks them messing up claims and/or going after you rather than your insurer for payment. Look at their patient contact page and the FAQs there, that's not normal, those should not be boilerplate answers for every billing question. It shows how they are trying to put financial burden onto the patient. Also look at Yelp, BBB and reviews for Google across their offices.
