I had a wonderful experience with this office and the front desk was lovely. The office is super clean. Rebecca Kravtsov PA is an excellent clinician. She is knowledgeable, friendly, and an expert in her field. She provided a thorough skin assessment and screening and really calmed me down when I was anxious about it. She is super friendly and pleasant to talk to. I highly recommended this office. And I got a goodie bag with cool samples
The wait can be a bit long sometimes, however my doctor Rebecca Kravtsov is very nice and cares for your skin concerns even if they are minimal. She took the time to listen and explain everything which I'm thankful. She also let me decide how aggressive or mild I can go with my treatment. I absolutely recommend her. Thank you so much.
My visit was exceptional. I came to see doctor Glushanok and despite not going to my original location for a few months, she exactly knew how to take care of me. Her recommendations are the best. If you need anything at all, please come here!!!
Avoid Dermatology Specialists of Sunset Park if you value honest billing practices and basic customer service.
I went out of my way to find an in-network dermatology provider, and this office appeared to fit the bill. What I got instead was a series of unexpected charges. The “dermatologist” treating me was actually just a physician assistants, but because her supervising physician was apparently out of network, I was billed in full. To make matters worse, a biopsy taken during my visit was also sent to an out-of-network physician for analysis, generating yet another surprise bill.
What was most frustrating was how my concerns were handled afterward. When I complained about these charges, I felt completely dismissed by the office staff, who were rude and unhelpful. I was told that it was "my obligation" to make sure every provider involved in my care was in network. My complaint was supposedly being referred to the billing department, but I never received any meaningful follow-up.
Patients reasonably assume that choosing an in-network practice means they will receive in-network care, or at the very least be clearly informed when out-of-network providers may be involved. That did not happen in my case. Instead, I was left with unexpected bills and no accountability when I raised concerns. Avoid at all costs!
Horrible management! Doctor's misdiagnosed aswell!
Had a bad experience once and decided to give them a second chance and they still are not to standards.
First visit they misdiagnosed my child's rashes, gave me medication that made it worse.
Second time they billed me for the visit said the provider was not under my insurance. Had to call multiple people to fix this since it was their fault and I should have been covered.
Last and final time I made an appointment at the sunset location they booked me with someone who just took a look and told me the procedure (cyst removal) cannot be done that day. When I requested and appointment specifically for that purpose. Was informed I had to go to the park slope location.
Went to the second location only to find out they booked me wrong and the provider did not take my insurance. Wanted me to rebook at another location!. Seriously unprofessional! I had enough going back and forth!
Save yourself the headache! Find a more professional office!
The PAs were fine but there were issues with billing like the other comments. I've been coming here for a while but then they said they no longer take my insurance. However they can still honor my appointment and just charge me the copay. Several months later, they automatically charged my card. I called and emailed and they just said that charge is for the visit on that date. If they told me they can't accept me, that's fine. But don't charge me twice without informing me. I asked for a refund but they stopped answering me.
PA was fine... Person answering the phone who goes by the name unique was horrible.. mumbled through the phone call, couldn't be bothered to have someone called me back, tried her hardest to not answer any of my questions and basically mumbled through the entire call. initially she told me her name was "receptionist". If this is who they hirer and who I have to deal with then I am not going to continue using them.
We typically have a good experience in this location. However, the lady who was covering for the regular front desk person was extremely rude. She does not know how to speak to people with respect. She charged me a copay, which I haven't had to in my previous visits. She's very unprofessional. She stood on a personal phone call the entire time. Usually, I will schedule the next visit after we finish with the Dr. but she was so unpleasant, I decided to do it later on at home. Terrible worker all around.
