I had my first ever skin exam (cancer screening) with Dr. Monika Mannan at the South Slope location. Scheduling my appointment was very easy. Dr. Mannan and the staff were friendly and professional. I felt welcomed and taken care of. The facilities are very nice, and it was a very efficient visit. Not a long waiting time at all before I was seen.

Would definitely recommend! Dr. Strazzula (and her assistant) are super knowledgeable and experienced, I came with a list of issues and they somehow intuitively guessed other problems I may be having and offered solutions and great advice. Very smooth booking process too.

I’ve had a great experience with South Slope Dermatology. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, and it’s easy to find appointment times that fit my schedule. Dr. Strazzulla has been incredibly helpful in clearing up my skin issues, and I’ve also been really impressed with the results of my Botox treatments. Highly recommend.

Have been to this office for years due to location and this is the final straw. They have continuously prescribed the wrong medication and refused to answer calls from insurance or pharmacies to the point where I have frequently lapsed on extremely important medication (Skyrizi). For perspective my specialty pharmacy called the offices for *3 weeks* with records indicating the receptionist will relay info the doctor and provide pre-authorization for insurance only for the branch manager or next receptionist coming back to apologize and say no action was actually taken. This has happened multiple times and just happened again. This office cares nothing about its patients and would rather let their medication lapse, which has massive long term effects, than perform basic communication. I never write negative reviews but please for your own health and sanity steer clear. I am not an outlier if you check Yelp reviews.

Yet another update! I continue to reach out at the email address provided and receive no answers. I have called as well. So now I have to move forward with filing a claim with the government no surprises billing desk to get this resolved. Waiting on over $400 for every year is unacceptable. Another update: it never ends! Now I am told I have a new charge. How is this possible when they already overcharged me by $400? And I haven’t been there in over a year? And the billing department will not remove my credit card from their Files despite me no longer being a patient there. Very unethical and very disappointing. The doctor I saw several times was good but billing is a mess. I went here because it was convenient to my home and I’ve ended up spending over a year in dispute with them over fraudulent charges. We were over billed for a visit- we were billed through an out of state provider- resulting in a large overcharge. Even when the claim was finally adjusted, they still refuse to give us a refund. I would not recommend this practice. UPDATE - I emailed the address suggested with the corrected claim information. Have still heard nothing back. Have called multiple times. I was charged for a $600 and $400 payment because my visit was billed as out of state. When the claim was finally corrected it showed I owe $187. They have told me the refund is going through and then have said it was canceled multiple times. I had seen that it was initially processed incorrectly and asked them to hold a charge on my credit card which they also did not, charging my card for a wrongly billed visit. This is for a routine biopsy so I can make sure I protect my skin. Unfortunately, these billing costs are getting in the way of making sure I can get the care I need. Mistakes happen and if this had been corrected, I would not be writing this review, but unfortunately, this practice is overcharging patients for routine skin care visits.

The Receptionist here had a particularly pleasant demeanor and was patient with me while I had a few snafus filling out the intake information. The assistant was very kind and Dr Rachel Gilmore removed a growth under my eye while reassuring me that it seemed benign but that she would get it tested for me. Overall I was so pleased with The Dermatology Specialist. My one concern was the wait time. I went 20 minutes early as I was a new patient but then had to wait for just over half an hour past my appointment time. I don’t think that would have bothered me as much if I hadn’t already come early. Over all an extremely positive experience!
