The process has been super smooth with each visit. There are multiple offices in my area, and everything is digital so it’s been easy to make appointments and follow my records.
Everyone I’ve dealt with at the front desk has been super friendly. I see Jordan for all my skin needs and she’s awesome. She’s been very helpful, takes time to listen, and has been super knowledgeable about my skin concerns. I’m glad to recommend Flatbush Dermatology and have been to my friends.
Love dr mizrahi-she is outstanding. She feels like a partner in skincare and explains everything and is patient and gentle. Usually, the girls at the front desk are wonderful as well. I docked one STAR for the sassy one that I saw for the first time today who treated me like I was a thief or an idiot when trying to understand billing. Also one doctor never bothered to show up to work today, so everything was behind, and one woman left after an hour and a half of waiting
My experience at The Dermatology Specialist: Location 614 Eastern Pkwy: In Crown Heights: with PA-C Cynthia Chi and the the team was excellent, professional and caring👍😇💕
Greatly appreciate her expertise to detail, and careful explanation regarding my specific medical needs. Also; the med Staff team were patient , caring & professional as well!👍
A big "SHOUT OUT" & blessings to you all taking care of us in the community 😇♥️
Jennifer♥️🙏
Dr Alyssa is the absolute best. she was thorough in my annual skin cancer check, identifying and biopsying what turned out to be a basal cell carcinoma. thanks to her expertise and kind support, i was able to then get high-quality care to address my carcinoma very quickly. i can't say enough about how awesome she is!!
While the staff/medical team is nice, follow up is non existent and medical bills may be high, unpredictable and unclear. I received a treatment in April, received a vague voicemail telling me I should come back due to the results but was not informed really. I was given a prescription and was told I’d receive that and other records by email and I haven’t. It’s so hard to get in touch with anyone and get my medical requests. And the cost for a biopsy was $355 and then I was told I still owed $75 for labs without an explanation of the cost and I needed to pay it to be seen for my follow up appointment. My insurance isn’t great but the extra owing without an explanation really got to me.
I know a scam when I see one, and this dermatologist’s office is exactly that. My insurance requires a $60 copay, which I paid. Before I was about to be seen, I sat down with the intake staff member who asked what brought me in. I explained that I had multiple concerns. He then told me I could only discuss a maximum of two issues.
I questioned why that would be the case, especially since I just paid a $60 copay and had several legitimate concerns that needed to be addressed. He then relayed this to the physician assistant, not even a dermatologist, who said she would “do the best she could” and mentioned that I could bring up three issues.
At no point on Zocdoc does it state there is a limit on how many concerns can be discussed during an appointment. It only suggests making a list of questions you have . This feels like a waste of patients’ time and money, and a tactic to force people to book multiple visits and pay additional copays.
I’m not coming back to pay another $60 for issues that should have been addressed in one visit. This is unacceptable and incredibly frustrating.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND
This place has no regard for your time. The first time I was seen here I waited 45 min past my appointment time (originally at 11). I get that if others are late, this can push things back. For my follow up, I scheduled an 8 am (when they open) thinking I couldn't be delayed since no one was before me. I was wrong. I got there on time, was the only patient, and was still seen 40 minutes late. Only the medical assistant apologized.
I have a full time job and have now had issues twice coming back late to work. Extremely inconsiderate. I don't get the point of even making an appointment.
And for context I've been to other locations of this chain and have not experienced this long of a wait. I'd rather commute 40 min to my old doctor and be seen in a timely manner.
Oh and cherry on top they were not able to treat my issue.
