Today, Jenny Miles, FNP was my attending Physician. She was very kind and compassionate. I had to visit the emergency room due to a fall sustained while working out. I spent approximately two hours in the waiting room. However, once I was taken to the back, the staff was exceptionally attentive. My X-rays were performed by the x-ray technicians, Alma and Ashley. Interestingly, Alma was in the process of training Ashley. Given the pain I experienced from the fall, they were very gentle during the X-ray procedure. Now, I am simply waiting to learn the results of my X-rays. The restrooms were impeccably clean. *The results of my x-rays turned out to be okay, no broken bones no fractures. I truly have a deep appreciation for Saint Joseph's Hospital, as I have been a patient there for over 30 years. Throughout all these years, I have never had a single complaint against St. Joe's. I regularly visit all the specialty physicians there only when necessary. It's literally a one stop shop. Perhaps I am biased, but I truly believe they are one of the finest hospitals in Arizona.

I would have given 5 stars because that is what I am used to giving when it came to Dignity/ St Joseph's hospital. Prior to Commonwealth taking it over, and budget cuts, losing good staff due to those same budget cuts, etc, this was THE place to come to. I say this because this was a place I felt safe with my care. The ED can be a messy, busy place, but by NO MEANS should it look like the way it does. DISGUSTING in the lobby, floors FILTHY, the rooms unkept, trash overflowing in the rooms and hallways. Unkept rooms even in XRAY/ MRI/CT rooms. Trash cups, everywhere. URINE on the bathroom floors. The sink faucets are corroded like they are going to fall apart. Blood on the sinks, walls, and floors in the ED rooms. The nurses pull a patient in bleeding etc, take them out, and get another one right after with no cleaning. You see, its not their job. My foot was BLEEDING all over the floor due to a recent surgery and you know? When I left, 4 hrs later, the blood was still there. Commonwealth budget cuts included housekeeping. Gone are the days HERE when regardless of the injury, illness, etc, the ED smelled clean. The staff looks miserable and run down, not like the years before when they actually smiled. Commonwealth needs to re-evaluate their budget and make necessary changes. This is not the ONLY hospital they acquired of course, and those locations have similar complaints. Seems they care about their pockets, rather than staff and patients. Unbelievable. Next time, I am uploading pictures. Would be interesting if the news caught wind.

I had the best care from my nurse Lauren and Dr Wade. My nurse she was so nice and my doctor was very thorough. It was a very good experience it makes you realize going to the hospital is not always bad and I have had some bad experiences. So even if you are not feeling good you still get people that care about the profession that they do taking care of the people that are not well. Thank you both for your wonderful care.

I had a really great experience at this ER. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely cared for. The nurses were incredibly kind, attentive, and made me feel comfortable during a stressful time. They took the time to listen and made sure I was okay every step of the way. I’m so grateful for the level of care I received truly amazing staff.

Wonderful care from start to finish. Quick assessment and then moved along according to attention required. Great information along the way with no surprises. Discharge information complete and helpful. The people at St. Josephs are wonderful.

Everyone has been kind and showing how much they really care about how you feel and what amount of pain you're in, advocating for you to get the pain under control. All the teams moved quickly to get my tests done in a timely manner so they can get you home or admitted. Great hospital! Even when it's busy, they try to keep everything moving as quickly as possible

I usually go to Mayo Clinic hosp for emergencies.. I took a change went to st joes in phoenix part of barrow inst . When I first walked in it wasn’t pretty looking ! But don’t let looks deceive you .. it felt like a factory you get pulled in and out of rooms very different approach may be a bit aggravating moving around when you don’t feel good , but I can see this way is getting everyone seen and I noticed many street people and drug addicts trauma is on their hands here as well, They had a dr see me and a full neurologist consult extremely thorough. They did not dismiss anything and handled my case very well . Hosp PA and neurologist did ever single to test to give me piece of mind and treated my migraine twice appropriately! I don’t care what the cost was being there 9 hours . I put my faith in them
