I would not recommend anyone bring their child to Physicians Immediate Care - Wicker Park. I had a very disappointing experience at the Wicker Park Physicians Immediate Care when I brought my infant son in to be evaluated. From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff was unhelpful and did not make us feel welcome. As a parent bringing in a sick infant, the lack of compassion and assistance only added to my stress. On our way out of the building after our visit, they actually turned off the lights before we had exited the building. The nursing staff also struggled to take my son's temperature and vital signs. I understand that obtaining vitals on an infant can be challenging, but they appeared unprepared, untrained and were ultimately unable to complete them appropriately, which did not inspire confidence in the quality of care. Most concerning, the physician assistant misdiagnosed my son's condition. We later learned that the diagnosis was incorrect, which delayed him from receiving the appropriate treatment. When it comes to caring for infants, accurate assessments are incredibly important, and this experience left me feeling that my concerns were not adequately addressed. Overall, I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I hope this location improves its training, communication, and quality of pediatric care so that other families do not have a similar experience. To add insult to injury, our bill was around $350 after insurance. A complete scam.

I have had the unfortunate experience of having to use physicians immediate care several times. They are the only in-network urgent care facilites through my insurance and that is the ONLY reason I would ever go back. Though that may not even be worth it with the way the price gouge and have predatory billing practices. Most of the time the providers are fine, though occassionally it's subpar. When I have to go here I have to mentally prepare myself for the stress and frustration of what is to come after my visit

This clinic does not know how to compentantly serve trans people (which makes it very funny to me that Google Maps marks it as LGBT+ friendly). If you're trans, please consider going elsewhere. Their standard forms (at least when I registered as a new patient) only had an option for sex assigned at birth and not one for gender identity or pronouns, nor one for preferred name, leading to multiple instances of providers being visibly or audibly confused/surprised by my gender presentation (ex: assuming I was a completely different patient, asking me more confirmation questions on the phone than they did for my cis partner, going "huh..... Ok" when I confirmed I was who I said I was). As medical providers, you should be expected to treat all your patients equally. Visibly/audibly expressing shock and confusion and disbelief when a patient doesn't look or sound how you assumed they would, based on their sex marker or legal name, is unprofessional and frankly just rude. In my case, I believe this confusion would've been avoided if you just included simple gender/pronouns/preferred name fields in your intake forms, which have become the industry standard. But even then, though, that wouldn't stop providers from having the same unprofessional interactions with gender non-conforming people. There should be comprehensive training on how to care for for trans and gender non-conforming people in a respectful manner, or at least one consistent with how I've seen them treat cis people. Additionally, my partner and I went to the clinic at the same time for similar tests. When we got identical results, we were told two completely different treatment plans with no explanation why. My partner was told it was nothing to worry about, while I was told I needed medication and to take significant precautions, despite us both receiving the same results. Obviously, this did not inspire confidence in their treatment plan, and I will likely be consulting my PCP for a second opinion. For any trans/gnc people reading this, I've been recommended Howard Brown for testing, if that's what you're looking for. And for anything else, I'd recommend trying a different urgent care clinic if possible. Now that I have my cis partners' experiences to directly compare against, I can confidently say that this place treats trans people differently in a way that feels not only uncomfortable but incompetent. This location had been the most convenient clinic for me by far, but because of everything discussed above, I won't be returning.

Literally came 10 minutes before my appointment, was seen immediately, entire visit was less than 20 minutes. Staff was amazing, doctor was amazing & I literally told all my friends & family they need to start going here. Would definitely recommend for any urgent care needs, also my results came back fast and detailed I was very impressed with their service.

PA Childress was my provider and took the time to actively listen to my symptoms even though he had a ton of patients that day. Clearly he is very educated and passionate about his job. i appreciate healthcare workers who have to deal with all of the issues within the healthcare system, difficult patients, and being overworked. I hope he knows that he made a difference for me and I wish him the best for the rest of his hopefully long and fruitful career! Thanks blake!

I would recommend the doctor, he was great, but I’m not sure I would recommend the facility. Booking the appointment was great, very fast and easy online process. But the check-in process is awful and I honestly started to google other options while waiting to be checked in and was just about to leave when I was called back. I am happy to wait my turn to see the doctor. But to wait 20 minutes to be checked in - even after filling out the multiple online forms before arriving and after entering the building - seems a bit excessive, especially when spoken to rudely. Also, my birth date was keyed-in incorrectly, and I wasn’t able to fix myself and she was unwilling to do so. She said it didn’t matter. But then caused issues with the prescription. I likely won't be back. I tried to provide this feedback directly but they kept asking for a Google review…

Predatory. Too many other urgent care providers in the city to ever come back here. I've been several times and front desk is always miserable and the care from doctors has been hit or miss. Most recently, we came in for flu testing for my daughter and specifically declined covid testing. Rapid flu test came back negative so they offered to send away for overnight flu test but didn't disclose they'd also be testing her for covid, pneumonia, strep and 3-5 other viruses, all individual charges I have to pay for despite never asking for them and actually asking to NOT be tested for one of them. Billing center says I have no recourse since I signed "consent to treat" - which you have to sign so they're protected under what the doctor deemed "medically necessary" - this is a joke as my kid CLEARLY was not ill enough to warrant any of those extraneous labs without my clear consent. Never again.

Had what sure enough was determined to be a bacterial infection. I walked in, no appointment and never had been but knew it was in my PCP's network, wait was about 25 minutes, all the healthcare professionals were fantastic. Left about 60min later feeling relieved for a diagnosis and a Zpack rx. Thanks again! (wud recommend, espcially if in-network)
