I became a Phoenix Heart patient 15 years ago. My original doctor was Dr. Kucher with whom I enjoyed an ongoing relationship. Left the Phoenix area for a couple of years but returned with a primary consideration being healthcare. Healthcare with Phoenix Heart and Dr. Kucher key factors since I had experienced a second angioplasty during that time away. Dr; Kucher’s retirement a couple of years later was indeed a disappointment.
Upon Dr. Kucher’s retirement I began treatment with Dr. Dizon, who I highly regard and given no other changes I likely would have continued treatment. However, a progressive erosion in overall service even before Dr. Kucher’s retirement made my drive from the West side of the valley seem less worthwhile.
Healthcare has in my many decades long experience deteriorated because of – and I can’t think of a better word – greed. Too many patients in too little available time. But jam them in back to back to back has become the standard. And so it has at Phoenix Heart. Request an appointment and weeks or even a month or more can be the first availability for existing patients. Of added disappointment at Phoenix Heart has been the increased time sitting in the waiting room for often an hour or more following the consistently changing check-in procedures in the last few years. Here’s an idea – fewer patients, better service, better patient care, happier patients. And I’m willing to bet little loss in bottom line profit.
The maddening experience with the consistently botched ultrasound appointment at the Talavi Vein Center prescribed by Dr. Dizon probably need not be repeated here. It made my decision to seek care closer to my home a relatively easy one.
Phoenix Heart ROCKS! Easy to obtain an appointment. Staff is always courteous and friendly. The entire staff has one goal - To insure the best possible care of patients. Can not say enough about Dr. R. Patel and Kristen Baker. Phoenix Heart is the place to go for all your Cardiac needs.
I saw Kaitlin Nakib today 4-27-2024. She is very good and knowledgeable. She was able to address the issues I had and explained to me what I didn't understand. I have been a patient at phx heart for over ten years. She is the very best
It started out strong and eventually went south. Twice I made appointments, responding to the text messages to confirm my time and filling out the required forms. The first time they said they had no record of an appointment, even I was contacted to confirm. The second time, I was asked to confirm my time, only to find out that the person I was suppose to see was no longer there. They siad they tried to contact me but all I received was a text to confirm my time. When leaving a message to the director I didn't even receive a call back. I have since moved on to another provider, so far so good!
I have been a patient for years here. No problem with my cardiologist, she is excellent. But as I have found in the past, whenever there is a problem with a dental or medical office, it's always the staff that causes the problems by not being willing to just do their jobs. Phoenix Heart offers a patient portal, which has a specific spot listed for test results. I had a doppler ultarsound procedure to measure for vein blockage (DVT) in my legs on 5-14-26. One might think the results would appear on my patient portal account, but nope. Several very polite calls starting last week to request they upload the result, or just send it to me directly, so I can take it to an outside doctor as part of my ongoing DVT treatment falls on deaf ears. The back office never answers when the operator transfers the call to them, and a recorded voice prompts you to leave your info and they will call back. They do not call back. The phone operator claims to send internal emails to the appropriate people to prompt them to provide the test results, which has no affect on their back office. Today on my 3rd call to yet again ask for my test results, I asked to speak to someone else, and got an employee who claims she will send more emails to higher up people whom she claims will get some action. We will see. I hate to escalate things, but I have a lawful right to test results which have been paid for. If I don't get them to finally do their jobs and provide my test results by next week, I will have to get my outside doctor to send me out somewhere to repeat the testing done at Phoenix Heart. If it comes to that, I will be contacing the Arizona Medical Board and Medicare to lodge complaints. As I said.....it's always the surly staff in these offices that cause the problems. This is what happens when the management lets their subordinates take over. EDIT: The Clinical Director (Edie) did call back and solved the problem. Phoenix Heart in a nutshell.....good cardiologist (Dr. Sellberg), surly lazy back office.
Dr. Al Rabani and his medical assistant were wonderful with my disabled adult child. They were respectful and gave him time to respond. Office staff was polite and the wait time was minimal. Great first experience.
Most of the staff R really great! PA Kristen is TOP NOTCH PA. I am so very grateful to have her as my PA Cardiologist. The only thing I have a lot problems is whenever I call to make an appointment, it really takes to long to answer my calls or any other calls. I do leave my info in the VM but usually I don't get a call back. I have the hardest time trying to get someone to answer! Not so good. Thx U ✌️
The front desk is always nice and friendly gets you checked in quickly. Dr. Gomes is always kind and informative . She answered all my questions, and made me feel relaxed throughout my visit. Dr. Gomes is compassionate and supportive.
