I would like to sincerely thank Dr. Ana Guzman for the outstanding care she provided. She works at the hospital where our daughter was born, and she taught us so many important things about caring for a newborn. She took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of our questions, and made us feel confident as new parents.
She is incredibly experienced, kind, patient, and compassionate. Unlike many others, she truly cares about her patients and goes above and beyond to help. We are very grateful for her professionalism and support.
Thank you, Dr. Ana Guzman. Wishing you good health and all the best!
This hospital is terrible I was left for 24 hours before even seen or cared having to look for a nurse or doctor. My bed was disgusting and smelled like pure urine and I was told I just have to wait until someone comes to change it until I got frustrated they didn’t change it for they didn’t offer me food until I said something nothing. Then we take test after test and no one brings me any update of what’s going on until I got up and made them check on the status of things I’m severely sick and should have not had to get up numerous times because I’m being neglected they seen me in pain gave me meds once and never again it got to a point I just started enduring the pain because there’s nothing else I could do. It’s day 3 and I finally get told something still no update just that I’m admitted they put me in this room that was filthy disgusting and hazardous I have pictures of blood on the floor bathroom filthy and leave me there again neglecting me no food not asked if I need water nothing for the pain just sitting there waiting hoping to hear back soon this is the worst THE WORST HOSPITAL AND SHOULD BE CLOSED FOR INVESTIGATION. Some staff are very helpful and understanding but majority are here like they don’t want to do their job they have nasty attitudes when you mention their flaws and it’s no way a human should be treated god forbid this was you or your family member is this how you would want them treated. I’m beyond angry plus I’m back after only 1 day of being discharged because I got worse I was told that I was looking great etc etc when I was first admitted n good to be let go now that I’m back they’re going over test from last week stating that they saw XY and Z so why was I released to go through everything over again they’ve been prolonging my medicine taking test test test that I still haven’t received answers for taking blood I don’t know where it’s going because not one word on what the result say
My private care physician located at this hospital. He’s an outstanding doctor. I had a great experience here I have my labs done. They were uploaded and the results were in right away. I couldn’t be happier and I feel well. Taken care of Dr Paul Chen deal practitioner.
I have had four ER visits this year at Coney Island Hospital, and every single time I have been genuinely impressed by the care and professionalism here.
From the moment you walk in — starting with security, the front desk/intake team, the staff taking information, the vitals team, nurses, and then the doctors — there is a level of dedication, patience, and positive attitude that really stands out.
ER visits are never easy, and nobody wants to be in the hospital, but the way this team handles patients makes a difficult situation feel calmer and more organized. Everyone I interacted with treated me with respect and urgency, and I could tell they genuinely care.
What stood out to me most is that it does not feel like just one good doctor or one good nurse — the entire flow, from the door to the medical team, feels strong. Something special is clearly happening at this hospital, and the people working here deserve recognition.
Thank you to the whole Coney Island Hospital ER team for your dedication, professionalism, and kindness.
My procedure being done at South Brooklyn was very professional. It was done in a timely fashion, was given the proper post surgery instructions and the staff was helpful and pleasant. Being polite and understanding even though I was a bit irritable, having not eaten and waiting a while. I appreciate their patience with me and I had a very good experience. The doctors, nurses(and dentist!) were all great. All My Thanks
I went to emergency and I had the surgery directly the same day, I stayed at the hospital 3 days and everything was great. There was a russian speaking doctor, he was super professional. It was my best medical experience. I live in France and here you don't have such a nice medical stuff. As I went to emergency without anything, they offered me a toothbrush, hair brush, socks. I still have there socks as a memory. There was always someone coming to me and check if everything is ok. When I called nurse, she came directly. In France, I was waiting 3 hours
I am beyond disgusted with the treatment I received at the Coney Island Hospital ER. I came in experiencing symptoms that I believed could be related to a stroke.
While I was seeking emergency medical care, I overheard one doctor referring to me as “psycho” while speaking with other doctors. Whether they realized I could hear them or not, that kind of behavior is completely unacceptable from medical professionals who are supposed to treat patients with dignity and respect.
What made the experience even worse was hearing what sounded like two doctors making comments about my nails while I was in and out of consciousness. At a time when I was frightened and concerned about my health, their focus seemed to be on making personal remarks rather than providing quality care.
I also believe some staff members assumed my family members could not understand English, because comments were being made openly in front of them that should never have been made in any professional medical setting. The lack of respect shown to both me and my family was shocking. The doctors, along with one nurse, came across as rude, dismissive, and lacking basic empathy. No patient should have to worry about being mocked or talked about while seeking emergency treatment, especially when they are experiencing symptoms they believe could be life-threatening.I left feeling angry, humiliated, and deeply disappointed. Patients come to the ER during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. The staff at this hospital should remember that professionalism, compassion, and respect are just as important as medical treatment. Based on my experience, Coney Island Hospital ER failed on all three.
Honestly some of the doctors are great and the other departments needs to be more mindful when it comes to doctors appointments. They need to confirm with the patient what time and date works for them not for the doctor itself . At the end of the day for setting up automatic appointments does not work for everyone please be more considerate and actually called to your patient. It not fair that professionalism is not there . It not everyone but who ever is in charge need to check each department and start making decisions and changes .
