Hi lenoxhill hospital is the best hospital in new york. They saved my life two times already as I'm epilepsy and had an ectopic pregnancy once and a internal bleeding so they operated me right away and after the surgery they kept on being interested how I'm doing with my health. When ever I have a health issue with a seazure I always come to lenoxhill 77st lex .I live all the way in queens but would never call an ambulance because they would bring me to woodhull or elmhurst hospital and that it suicide. The doctors and nurses are all extremely caring and kind I would always cone here and recomend this hospital to everyone. As I have tried a dozen hospitals in NYC this is the best care I've got.
I recently delivered my baby at Lenox Hill Hospital and overall had a positive experience, with a few areas that could definitely be improved.
The biggest highlight was the staff. The anesthesiologists were fantastic — they took time to explain the epidural, answered all my questions, and had excellent bedside manner. My delivery nurse was absolutely amazing and made the entire experience feel calm and supported.
Some things the hospital does really well:
• You can have two support people plus a doula
• The Northwell app lets you see medications, notes, and diagnoses in real time
• You can wear your own clothes during delivery
• Nitrous oxide is available as a pain option (though it’s still fairly new)
• The discharge education was excellent due specifically to Erin— they even helped ensure our car seat was safely installed
• The nursery was helpful when we needed rest and is fist come first serve
• Bella Photography took beautiful newborn photos in your recovery room and allowed you to bring props
• There’s a comfortable family room for visitors
The birth registration office was super helpful, they didn’t put any pressure on us because we were still deciding the name, we really appreciated that.
However, there were also some challenges:
• Triage felt outdated and the changing area lacked privacy and seating
• Delivery and recovery rooms are quite small with limited seating, having folding chairs
• The postpartum unit sometimes ran out of basic supplies (linens, blankets, disposable underwear, no shower chair)
• There were several instances where I requested medication or supplies and waited hours to receive it
• Breastfeeding support felt discouraging rather than supportive
• I was not offered a breast pump when told I wasn’t producing enough milk only told you use formula
• Food ordering required calling a number and sometimes waiting on hold (would be much easier through the app); the food was actually pretty good.
The patient transport elevator does not work properly, it took a really long time to move between floors and when discharged it took a very long time.
Overall, the clinical staff and delivery team were wonderful and made a huge difference in the experience. The nursing staff was hit or miss. With a few operational improvements — particularly around supplies, postpartum support, and responsiveness — this could easily be an even better experience for new families.
Tip of things to bring:
1. Compression socks for swelling
2. A donut pillow if you want to sit anywhere other than the bed
3. Sleeping bag for your support person
4. Adult diapers to go home if you have a long drive
5. Photo props for the photographer (makeup)
I had my open myomectomy done at lenox hill and I have only praises for the entire care team. Coming in first is my excellent obgyn, Dr Mio Sawai who performed the operation. She was able to diagnose and plan the surgery as soon as possible and did not delay anything.
The entire nursing team at Lenox hill is simply the best. Arden, Dianna, Tara, Lydia, Maureen all the nurses took such great care and were so kind and helpful. It did not matter what the time was or how small the request was they were just always there to help and guide.
Special shoutout to Arden who seemed more like a friend by the end of her shift. She walked with me the entire duration and encouraged me along with medical shows talk.
I could not have asked for anyone better.
My appendix perforated and they were able to perform surgery on me within 10 hours. They saved my life and everyone was extremely kind. I only wish that I was able to eat their delicious food but I was on a liquid diet for my recovery
We would like to sincerely thank the entire outpatient surgery department @ lenox Hill Hospital,
The team was truly amazing—extremely efficient, kind, and genuinely dedicated to patient care.
A special thank you to the PA Schleifer,Dr Mattais for their professionalism and compassion. The entire staff went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience.
highly recommend this hospital for its exceptional efficiency and truly caring approach.
I gave birth to two of my four children here, most recently just two months ago, and both experiences were truly 10/10. My husband wasn’t able to be there, but the incredible nurses made sure I never felt alone—I will always be grateful for their kindness and support and also my OB Dr. Kyan the best !!!!
A very special thank you to Dr. Elizabeth Rovit for delivering my baby boy. You took the time to explain everything and brought me so much comfort when I was scared. You made my experience unforgettable, and I will forever be thankful. 💙
Since the minute you step in here they show you that they care every single step of the way grateful with all the treatment I got from them they’re really professional from any of the other hospitals I’ve ever been too this one is by far the best appreciate all the staff that works in this hospital #1
They do not value our time. Waiting for hours after a procedure for a bed. Family members exhausted being in the hospital since 5am. No answers just "waiting on a bed". Why schedule procedures that require a overnight observations and have a bed on standby? Why make us wait for HOURS. I will be sure to go to a more reputable hospital that values their patients time and comfort.
