City MD in Park Slope is a better way to get seen and treated by a Doctor instead of an emergency room, or making an appointment with your reg doctor. The wait is somewhere between 15-35 min. Comfortable seats and good intake staff. But you can make the final choice concerning your health. You dont always have to listen or rush to what the doctor says or wants. Take one step at a time, slowly and rationally.

Grateful to the staff, nurse, and Dr. Sherpa for today's visit. Overnight, realized I needed to be seen for a sinus infection. Scheduling was easy on line. Although there were a lot of people being seen and I was told there may be a wait, things moved faster than I expected. The front desk staff member was personable, checked me in quickly (I had checked mostly on line), and was caring; the nurse had a good bedside manner, was thorough & quick in taking vitals etc. Dr. Sherpa was up to date on my condition and status, allowing him to do his exam & give me good information & advice. He's fantastic, very personable and patient-oriented. Script was called in and I am now all set. I give these high marks as a health care provider; this was a busy day for them & they were graceful & thorough. Thank you to CityMD Park Slope, Dr. Sherpa & team!

One of my concerns during the appointment was that the medications were prescribed without a clear explanation. The doctor did not initially discuss why each medication was necessary, how they were expected to help, potential benefits, or what symptoms/conditions they were intended to address. I ultimately had to ask for clarification myself. I believe patients should be given sufficient information to make informed decisions about their care and treatment plan. He did not take time to really examine or ask me more information about my symptoms.

Visited this location today for someone to exam my big toe. Provided the receptionist my name and she was able to pull up my information and insurance info. I proceeded to complete the paperwork and was told that I need to make a $50 copay before the doctor can see me? Doctor have not even given me a diagnosis yet and I am supposed to just dish out $50?? Are you kidding me?

Fraudulent billing. I was just contacted by a collection agency claiming that I owed an additional $50 beyond my co pay. I contacted billing and patient relations as well as my insurance provider. My plan covers full payment for urgent care and I should not be billed anything additional. I have had to waste my morning on long redundant phone calls and I am still working on resolving the matter. I can not imagine how much money they fraudulently collect from people who just pay the extra money.

When you go to an urgent care center, you expect at least a minimum level of compassion. Unfortunately, my experience at this location was disappointing. The person at the front desk was very indifferent from the moment I arrived. The only person who treated me with kindness and dignity was Paola, the nurse, and I truly appreciate her care. The doctor spent about four minutes with me, quickly told me I had shingles, gave me pills for 10 days, and left before I had the chance to ask more questions. When someone goes to the doctor feeling unwell, they also need empathy and the opportunity to understand what is happening with their health. The visit felt rushed and lacked compassion.

I had a very positive experience at this location. The team was very responsive to a bad injury I had due to a fall I took. Everyone helped me and the X Ray technician (I forgot his name), PA, Henry, and front desk person Angela were all very kind and helpful.

Absolute medical negligence and dismissive care by Ashley Phillip, NP. Avoid this provider! I visited this CityMD location as a walk-in suffering from severe pain, a coin-sized swelling on my forehead, and a strong throbbing sensation. I explicitly told the provider, Ashley Phillip, NP, that I had a scheduled surgery in 4 days, and this active infection was putting my upcoming procedure at risk. She completely dismissed my symptoms. When I asked her to drain the area or prescribe oral antibiotics, she refused and condescendingly told me that because I came right before closing, she "couldn't do anything for me" and that draining it "would make it worse." She lazily diagnosed a deep, painful abscess as a simple "singular papular pimple" (as stated in my Summary of Visit), told me it was "just accumulated fat," and advised me to just use over-the-counter acne patches. After much back-and-forth, she condescendingly sent a prescription for Benzoyl Peroxide 5% Gel to my pharmacy. Due to worsening throbbing, I had to see a certified dermatologist the next day. The dermatologist immediately recognized a deeply infected epidermal cyst, performed an emergency needle puncture to drain active pus, gave me a localized steroid shot, and prescribed oral antibiotics to save my upcoming surgery. Ironically, in my official "Summary of Visit," Ashley Phillip included standard care instructions telling me to "seek immediate medical care if you have increased pain, swelling, or pus draining." It is completely ridiculous that she printed out these exact red flags as warning signs, yet completely ignored and dismissed them when I was sitting right in front of her presenting those exact symptoms. Turning away a patient with an active, throbbing infection because it's "close to closing time" is pure incompetence and a violation of CityMD policies. Ashley Phillip's lazy and dismissive attitude put my health and my surgery at serious risk. (Note: A certified phone interpreter was used during this visit, and the recorded line will prove her exact words).
