I have had a very positive experience so far with the new patient registration process. Today I had a blood test with Pep (Apple Room), who was excellent!! This was my first ever blood test through a GP/NHS in almost a decade in London, so I was a little nervous. However, it was quick and smooth, I hardly felt a prick.
Pep was quite thorough and also walked me through the tests being carried out, which I found really helpful. As someone who rarely visits the GP and doesn’t often have health checks, it has been very reassuring to see this practice being so comprehensive and proactive.
Overall, a very positive experience so far, thank you!!
Only 4 stars as I had some trouble getting a repeat prescription and appeared to have been lost in the system but a phone call later all was resolved. My subsequent appointment for blood tests as part of a medication review couldn’t have gone better.
My nurse, Pep, deserves a 5 star review as she was charming, caring, helpful and considerate. She took the trouble of explaining all the blood tests requested and also gave me a flu jab whilst I was there.
I joined this surgery with hope, but the moment I needed real help, I hit a wall. Every time! The constant demand for appointments where I was not heard and forced to repeat myself over and over with absolutely no result has been exhausting. All my requests for specialist access are consistently misplaced, ignored, or denied:
- Unmonitored Autoimmune - An endocrinology referral was rejected despite clear Hashimoto’s presence, TPO >2000, blood markers of systemic inflammation and constant fight and refusal for a full thyroid panel (incl. T3, RT3, antibodies, etc.)
- Mental Health - A CMHT referral for a full psychiatric evaluation was rejected due to a misrepresentation of my symptoms. Furthermore, I submitted a self-referral for ADHD three months ago, which is still sitting incomplete despite constant chasing.
- Clinical Oversight - I reached out with a severely infected eye and was sent to Boots opticians via text to later discover at Moorfields that it is another autoimmune Scleritis, demanding the need for urgent management of the other two areas.
I am speaking out because navigating this level of frustration and lack of genuine care has been damaging to my health.
My experience has been a very positive one. I had a blood test carried out by Nurse Pep who was very professional. She made me feel at ease, explained what the test was for and carried out the procedure quickly and smoothly.
Ola the receptionist was very welcoming.
Overall, excellent surgery and lovely staff.
Very disappointing experience with this GP practice.
Since November, I have been trying to get a follow up for my vitiligo after treatment from an NHS dermatologist. I informed the practice that my prescribed cream was running out and that my condition was getting worse, which has also affected me mentally. I received no response.
I later had an appointment with a doctor who told me he was not associated with the GP and could not review my condition or help. No follow up was arranged.
I requested another appointment online and again received no response. I also went to the practice in person and spoke to reception, and was told someone would contact me, but no one ever did.
At this point, I am extremely concerned about the lack of care and communication. My condition is progressing and I have been left without treatment, without explanation, and without any support.
This level of service is not acceptable, especially when dealing with a medical condition that requires ongoing care.
Excellent service throughout - I’ve had a very positive experience since registering a few months ago. Appointments are easy to arrange and often available the same day, which makes a real difference. Dr R Alexander has been outstanding - attentive, thorough, always willing to take the time to explain things clearly and provide reassurance. Highly recommend.
The worst GP surgery I have ever had the displeasure of engaging with. Disappointing how they treat patients and lack of accountability on improving patient communications and extremely slow and disjointed. Shambles! I've been waiting for them to send my patient records to change insurance coverage since March, we're now in June. I had to be informed by insurance that the surgery has said there is NO RECORD OF ME BEING A PATIENT! After over 5 years as a patient there. When I called them to ask why I'd been listed as inactive, they tried to blame the NHS records and asked me to register via NHS app, when I attempted this, NHS records me as being a registered patient already ( I know I am!) So which is it? Am I inactive and not a patient and it's the NHS that has made me inactive or is it Woodlands? Because the NHS records me as being an active registered patient with Woodlands and my insurance coverage is delayed because they can't get their act together!
Lovely, helpful staff, doctors are so kind and understanding, no rushing with patients. The surgery is clean, located in a green, leafy area. Check in was so easy, the facilities are hygenic and lots of information on display. Added extra that l appreciated is the calming jazz music in the background. Great experience!
