I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the staff on Sarratt Ward at Watford General Hospital for the exceptional care they gave my husband in his final days.
Every member of the team treated him with such kindness, compassion, dignity, and tenderness. Their care and consideration meant so much during an incredibly difficult time.
After everything he had endured, I am profoundly grateful that his final day was peaceful and that he passed away so gently, almost in a whisper. That is a gift I will always cherish.
Thank you all for your professionalism, humanity, and the comfort you brought to me and our family. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
I would like to say a huge thank you to the amazing team at Watford General Hospital A&E who cared for my 5-year-old daughter.
As a parent, it was heartbreaking seeing her in so much pain. She was screaming and crying whenever she tried to walk, and I was extremely worried.
After her X-rays, Dr. Ahmet Arseven took the time to thoroughly explain the results and reassure me. He carefully talked me through the anatomy of her foot, explaining that there were no broken bones and that it was most likely a severe bruise rather than a muscle or ligament injury. His patience, professionalism, and reassurance immediately put my mind at ease.
He then arranged for two wonderful nurses, Adam Mohumed and Divashya Parmar, to help with a walking test. They took my daughter privately, were incredibly kind, patient, and encouraging, and made what could have been a frightening experience feel safe and positive. They even gave her a little gift for being so brave. With their support, she was able to wiggle her toes and eventually walk without pain.
We came home feeling so relieved and incredibly grateful. The compassion, kindness, and professionalism shown by Dr. Ahmet Arseven, Adam Mohumed, and Divashya Parmar made all the difference to both my daughter and me.
Thank you for the exceptional care you provide every day. You are a credit to Watford General Hospital, and we will always be grateful for everything you did for our family.
My wife gave birth to our baby girl at Watford General Hospital two weeks ago. We can’t recommend this hospital enough! The midwives and the medical staff were amazing! My wife’s midwife Susan Garland was an absolute blessing throughout her pregnancy and the care she received from Susan was exceptional.
Everyone at Katherine Ward was so friendly and very supportive. Our heartfelt appreciation also goes out to the surgeon Dr. Michael Menezes, Dr. Isuru and Dr. Patel from the anesthetic team, and the lovely midwives who made the arrival of our baby a very special occasion for us. Although it was a major surgery, they made it very smooth for my wife, and she had recovered so well within a short span of time. A special ‘thank you’ to you all.
Fantastic experience at this hospital - I have been in A&E with members of my family and each time all of the staff are fantastic. Wait times haven’t been too long. Very efficient and knowledgeable teams that are under huge amounts of stress and pressure but still manage to be brilliant. I have had orthopaedics treatment here too, and used the blood clinic which is a great service - really quick. I’ve also just had my baby at this hospital and the experience was amazing - a really phenomenal maternity team throughout my pregnancy and labour (everyone was wonderful from the sonographers and midwives to the nurses and consultants but extra thanks to Dipali and Mr Tselos) .. and 6 weeks post labour the post natal teams are amazing. I’d definitely recommend this hospital.
I was admitted to the Urgent Treatment Centre due to a cut on my foot. After an initial inspection of the wound in less than an hour by a nurse, I was seen by a doctor and I was given an x-ray after waiting 3-4 hours in total. The staff were all very professional and respectful and the waiting time reasonable. Things to improve are the state of the building, which is old and in a largely poor state and the absence of better bandage. Unfortunately the wound took longer to heal as a result, I think. I'm happy however that anything major was ruled out and that the wound was appropriately disinfected and examined and that the staff were kind.
We had such a positive experience at Watford General Hospital for the birth of our baby, and we are incredibly grateful for the care, kindness, and professionalism shown to us throughout.
Although I haven’t been able to capture everyone who supported us, I would like to give special thanks to a few individuals who truly stood out.
On Victoria Ward, Claudette and Carly were both wonderful—so attentive, warm, and reassuring during such an important time. Their care made a real difference to our experience.
Catia and Jodi, the gestational diabetes midwives, were exceptional. Managing gestational diabetes through diet alone felt achievable thanks to their guidance, and the information sessions were clear, supportive, and empowering. At every appointment, the feedback was thoughtful and encouraging. It was also such a lovely and personal touch to see them again after the birth and introduce them to our baby.
During the delivery, Anne, our midwife for the C-section, was calm, supportive, and reassuring throughout. Dr Jen, our surgeon, was fantastic—so many people have commented on how neat my C-section scar is, which really speaks to her skill. The atmosphere in theatre was calm and positive, and it was clear from the way she spoke to her team that she is not only highly skilled but also genuinely kind and respectful.
Dr Deep, the anaesthetist, was brilliant—calm, friendly, and with a great sense of humour that really helped put us at ease.
We also want to thank Gayna and Sarah, both midwives who provided wonderful care and support.
Overall, we felt so well looked after every step of the way. The whole team created a safe, calm, and compassionate environment during such a special and emotional time in our lives. We will always be grateful for the role they played in welcoming our baby into the world.
I cannot thank the staff enough for the incredible care and support I received throughout my time at Watford.

I cannot thank the doctors and nurses at Watford General enough. The staff were incredibly professional, kind, and attentive during my stay. Despite being clearly very busy, they made me feel cared for and explained everything clearly. We are very lucky to have such dedicated healthcare workers. Thank you for everything!
