I took my mum to Shady Lane for a blood test today which was carried out efficiently and on time. Wendy, the receptionist, was extremely professional and so helpful in organising a referral and getting a same day appointment which Richard, a paramedic. The staff were all wonderful with my elderly mum and we even went home with her medication from the onsite pharmacy. Great service.
Submitted an appointment request and had a call within 5 minutes offering a same day appointment. Went to see Dr Abraham and he was absolutely fantastic. Really listened and made me feel at ease.
Previous week we had an appointment for my son with Dr Rafi and he was also brilliant. I have been so impressed by the level of care shown by both of these doctors and it is really appreciated.
Oaks Medical Centre fails again. Whilst the doctors are excellent, getting through the poor IT systems and horrible front line teams is near impossible without a fail. Besides being invited for asthma review that I was told was not needed and it was unknown why I was invited for the review last week, this week, I request prescription and get no communication from them that there is a query in it. Then, just to put the icing on the cake, the lady decided to argue with me about it when I went to the surgery bypassing their online systems. I'm keeping track and in the past year, I've had 9 finals to 2 successes with this place. Avoid if possible!
Just as an update after seeing their response to me below. It's now over two days later and still no communication from them. This is my point exactly........
Reception staff on today 26 feb 2026 worked very hard under presure. The queue was going on for long time When I made an enquiry about my appointment she was polite too. Give her a pay raise!
Time the authority responsible for rating GP Surgery's, should inspect Oaks medical centre. They may have been scored "good" in 2022. The service across the board is "very poor" in 2025/2026
Had minor surgery today with Dr.Hannif and his lovely nurse (sorry forgot your name ) was quick and painless a wonderful service with very friendly staff who put you at ease ,excellent surgery always great service thank you 😊
Booking appointments and coming to your doctors or should I say nurses as the chance of meeting a doctor is slim, is The worst experience of my life it triggers my anxiety to the point I will search for help elsewhere before contacting you. I had to wait over 30 minutes in the que at the desk just to ask if my prescription was in the box behind the counter and after that it wasn't.
