We are deeply grateful to St Thomas’ Hospital, Lambeth, where our grandson was born recently by C-section. The doctors were highly professional, and their careful assessment and reassuring approach gave us great confidence. The nursing staff were truly exceptional — caring, attentive, and always ready to help with kindness and patience. It is clear that patient care, safety, and comfort are given the highest priority.
The hospital is clean, spotless, and very well managed, reflecting the high standards maintained throughout. Every member of the team made us feel safe and supported during this precious moment for our family.
Our heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and the entire staff for their excellent service and compassionate care. They have given our family a beautiful and memorable beginning to our grandson’s life, and for that, we will always remain grateful.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to the amazing team at St Thomas’ Hospital.
My name is Hussain Sardar. I was referred from King’s College Hospital, Denmark Hill, after I broke my arm in an accident. I had surgery yesterday, and I cannot thank the staff enough for the excellent care I received.
The nurse who looked after me before my operation was incredibly kind, caring, supportive, and professional. She treated me with so much compassion that it felt like my own mother was caring for me. She made me feel calm and safe during a very stressful time. Her dedication and kindness truly impressed me, and she is an outstanding example of what nursing should be.
The doctor who performed my surgery was also exceptional. He was highly professional, knowledgeable, respectful, and explained everything clearly. He spoke to me with kindness and treated me with such care that it felt like a father looking after his son.
I came to the hospital alone, but because of the kindness and compassion shown by the staff, I never felt alone. Everyone made me feel respected, cared for, and supported throughout my treatment.
Thank you to everyone at St Thomas’ Hospital for your outstanding care and professionalism. I will always be grateful for everything you did for me.

Exceptional care every time
St Thomas’ Hospital is truly outstanding. All four of my children were born here, and each delivery was calm, professional, and incredibly supportive — the maternity teams made my partner feel safe and reassured throughout.
The A&E department is the fastest and most efficient in London, with exceptional care from doctors, nurses, carers, and all staff. The hospital is also spotlessly clean and extremely well organised, which makes a huge difference.
A hospital we trust completely and will always be grateful to. Thank you to every single member of the St Thomas’ team — you are amazing.
A special shout-out to Michelle on William Gull Ward, Steph on Beckett Ward, and Katja on the Admissions Ward at the St Thomas - Westminster.
These ladies are true lifesavers and absolute Amazons. They are knowledgeable, compassionate, professional, and genuinely care about their patients. No matter how many times they were called, they never made me feel like a burden or an inconvenience. They always responded with kindness, patience, and understanding.
Their dedication, expertise, and positive attitudes made a difficult hospital stay much easier to cope with. They clearly love what they do, and it shows in the exceptional care they provide every day.
Thank you, Michelle, Steph, and Katja, for everything you do. You are a credit to your wards and to the NHS.
On the night shift of 15 June 2026, I attended the Emergency Department at St Thomas’ Hospital while suffering from severe chest pain, ongoing pain on the left side of my body, and serious physical distress following multiple accidents. I came to the hospital expecting urgent medical care, professionalism, and basic human compassion.
Instead, the behaviour and attitude I experienced from a member of staff at reception left me shocked, humiliated, and deeply upset. I felt dismissed, judged, and treated as if my pain and medical condition did not matter. At a moment when I was struggling physically and emotionally, I was made to feel unwelcome rather than supported.
I strongly believe the conduct and attitude of this night-shift staff member were the main reason the situation became so distressing and emotionally damaging for me. What should have been a place of care and safety instead became an experience that increased my anxiety, pain, and loss of trust.
No patient attending an Emergency Department in severe pain should ever feel ignored or pushed away. Hospitals are supposed to be safe places where vulnerable people receive care and respect, regardless of who they are or what condition they arrive in.
I fully understand that NHS staff work under pressure, and I appreciate the hard work many healthcare workers do every day. However, professionalism, empathy, and respectful communication are essential responsibilities in emergency care. What I experienced fell far below the standard of treatment and humanity I expected from one of the UK’s major hospitals.
This experience has seriously affected my trust and confidence in the care I received. I hope this matter is reviewed properly so that no other patient in pain is made to feel the same way again.
Unfortunately I ended up in hospital for a week and I have to say I was very surprised how good the service was in St Thomas hospital. They really looked after me well and made sure I had a safe and speedy recovery.
The meals on the other hand lol 😅
They weren’t actually as bad as I imagined them to be.
Every morning they you bring you a menu and you get to choose your lunch and dinner.
They have a few choices for you to choose from and you get dessert which is always a good look!
They take their time to serve the meals so they were sometimes a bit cold.
But overall you can’t complain!
My 84 year old mother checked in today at St Thomas'. She has waited oatiently for 6 months She is scheduled for a heart surgery tomorrow.
She got up at 6am, went on patient transport for 3hrs. Got to the ward at 12.15.
PS After everything, the surgery was cancelled at the last minute and has been rescheduled for two weeks time.
It is now 22.15 and they have just found a bed for her on the otherside of the hospital.
10hrs in a stuffy small visitors waiting room sat on a chair.
If this isnt proof of what a failing state looks like I dont no what is !!! Until you need the NHS, you dont know how badly it is being failed by ALL politicians.
I gave birth at St Thomas' Hospital 2 days ago and had an exceptional experience. The maternity staff were incredibly helpful, and the team of midwives and the anesthesiologist were amazing. Their professionalism and care made a significant difference during my stay. I am deeply grateful for their support and would highly recommend St Thomas' Hospital for maternity care especially Heidi Beaven who delivered our newborn and Kate who covered the earlier shift.
I am so very grateful that we switched from the Royal London!
