Fantastic service here today. Went in with my glasses which were broken beyond repair, and was told they don't usually just sell the frames by themselves. After a brief and fun chat with the manager, he sold me the frames at a very good price, and I left being able to see again! The website didn't make it clear I would be charged for an eye test, but it was a thorough test that was by far the best I've had in a decade. It wasn't slapdash like most places that seem eager to turn you around and fob you off. So it was worth paying for, I just wish it had been more obvious up front online. Scoring the store a 4 out of 5 as the store was incredibly busy on my visit with people all with genuine appointments for both audiology and opticians but there were not enough seats for us all to wait and it became very hot in store. However, I was seen very quickly and the service I received was extremely good overall. The optometrist was fantastic, very supportive and knowledgeable. She helped me find the correct products to soothe my dry eyes but didn't pressure me to buy direct from Specsavers which I appreciated. I did buy the products for ease and as she had assisted me to find the correct type.

I took my 3yo because he told me he couldn't see things far away. When we got there, he saw the machine and completely freaked out, crying, trying to run out of the shop, wouldn't let me pick him up etc. The lady who was with us was incredibly patient. She said there was no worry about him missing his appointment, we could try other tests if he wouldn't do this one (one where they look through the machine at a hot air balloon), showed him stickers and the glasses etc. Eventually after about 15 minutes my son calmed down and I persuaded him to come and look at the machine and when she saw that I'd managed to get him back over she swooped in and showed him how the machine worked and let him look at my eyes on it etc and we managed to get him to do the eye examination. I was just so impressed with the staff dealing with a child having a huge anxiety attack/meltdown, and all of the adjustments they made. My son also can't reliably read numbers and letters yet but they used other tactics like tracing the numbers etc to test his vision. Very impressed with the staff, clearly used to dealing with young children and patient with lots of tactics up their sleeves to get the kids on board.
