Really fast friendly service. I went in for an eye test and everything was explained to me as we went through it plus they took the time to answer any questions I had. Turned out I needed glasses and was able to choose from a wide range of frames that started from £25 and up, very good value to suit every purse. The kind lady even helped me pick my frames with her helpful feedback. All in all very positive experience, minimal waiting round, booked my test online and went at a time I'd picked that suited me. Really pleased.

I had my first eye test for 25 years since having had laser eye surgery at the age of 38. What a pleasant experience! From the initial health check to the eye test and finaly the fitting, the staff were polite and knowledgeable and the process was surprisingly quick. Starting out for the first time with varifocals, I was very well advised on what to expect and how to get the best out of them. I'd like to thank everyone I interacted with for a slick, professional and kind service.

If it was possible to give less than one star in a review, then I would do. I have been a customer at this store for years and have an ongoing subscription service for my contact lenses. I recently ordered some safety glasses through work and when going in last week on the off chance to see if they were ready, I could not have been treated with anymore disregard and distain. I went in with my twin 6 year old boys, who have Autism Spectrum Disorder and are non-verbal and we might have well as been invisible. When I went in, I stood directly in front of the main desk at the front, I was literally less than half a foot away from three different members of staff. None of them were busy, none of them were on the phone and none of them were dealing with other customers. I am not sure what seemed to make them so uncomfortable, me having to feed snacks to my children to keep them regulated whilst using Makaton to communicate with them seemed to be something that meant the two main members of staff stood directly in front of me would not even make eye contact with me. I stood in almost amazement as I watched them proactively look for other customers walking in, not one of them even bothered to ask "are you being seen by anyone, is there anything I can do?" There was one member of staff, a young girl who eventually came over to me once I had started to walk off and it turned out that my safety glasses had indeed been delivered that day. I never got anyone to check that they fit, I wasn't walked over to a booth. I was handed the glasses in the middle of the store, told to put them on and see if the vision was okay and that was it. Absolutely shocking "service" and an affirmation that me or any of my children will not be using them again in the future, at all.

Staff are friendly and attentive. The optician was through and explained everything in great detail, ensuring I understood everything. He also made sure if I had any follow up questions I could contact the shop again for further information if necessary.

Absolutely amazing can't believe i got 2 pairs of £70 frames one for distance and one for reading. Reactions put on my distance pair. And with my nhs prescription I only paid £70. The staff were amazing care and attention paid to the fit of my glasses with minor adjustments. Since using Scrivens and being charged copious amounts including £80 per lens for reactions and no care to detail with the fit. I will never use them again. Specksavers all the way from now on. Great job guys.

Before I get into why I’ve left a 1 star review I’d like to say I couldn’t fault the lovely lady who did my initial checks. She was friendly and really reassuring. Especially after I told her I had ADHD and that I struggle to process questions quickly. She asked if she could put that info in my notes which I thought might be a good idea to let the optician know I might struggle and need more time. My reason for the 1 star is for my experience with the optician. He was so rude! He kept yawning and belching. Every question was asked like I was in trouble. He was annoyed when I asked him to repeat the questions. During the test, He asked if I had dry eyes, to which I replied yes. He didn’t say a word and wheeled himself off to the sink and opened a pack and put some drops on something, he then wheeled himself back over to me and put the drops in my eye. He then asked me to blink, blink stare. Which I did but I must of blinked too soon after the stare instruction because he let out a big sigh, shrugged his shoulders then instructed me to blink blink stare abruptly. Quite honestly I just wanted to leave. The only time he was remotely polite was at the end when he beckoned his colleague in to pass on the information from the eye test. I couldn’t wait to leave. And will not be returning to purchase anything. I’ve been left quite upset by this experience. Also appointments. We’re running an hour behind schedule.

Got an appointment really quickly. Friendly welcome and did not have to wait long for initial tests. All staff were very helpful and reassuring. Rachel Sharpe who inspected my eye health and tested my eyes was outstanding.

All staff were welcoming and friendly. The venue is light and airy and comfortable. The wait time was very low even though I arrived early. I was given clear information at every stage and my questions were answered expertly.
