Great experience. Everyone approachable and friendly. Ciro my nurse was great and all the specialists were unhurried and had time for questions. I definitely recommend Shirley Oaks to friends. No one wants to be in hospital, but they make it as pleasant as possible. After care by Tejal in physio. Didn't achieve the result we'd hoped, but she was supportive and caring and has left me in a far better place. I'll probably need further surgery and hope that I have the same team to get me back to full fitness.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the excellent care I received during my treatment. My overall experience was very good, and I am truly grateful to all the staff involved.
A special thank you to Dr. Mr Kamel, who was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and reassuring throughout my treatment. He took the time to explain everything clearly, which made me feel confident and comfortable.

I came in for a second blood test on I/6/26 as requested by the anaesthetic prior to my Total Knee Replacement on 2/6/26 at Shirley Oaks. i was warmly greeted by 2 friendly and caring nurses. Once the bloods were taken they could tell I was nervous about the operation and they reassured me that I will be fine. All my questions were answered and I left the hospital feeling calm. I had a total knee surgery at this lovely hospital last week and ended up staying 6 nights. My whole experience from all the staff has been amazing, from Reception staff, the pre-assessment, theatre staff, consultant, anaesthetist, Dr Hamsa, Pharmacist Aarti, physios, catering staff, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to have a visit from my surgeon Mr Gee on his day off to check up on how I was doing.
I received excellent care by the Ward staff and they encouraged me to ring the bell if I need anything. Nothing was too much trouble for them and their kindness and constant monitoring made a stressful time so much easier. So many team staff helped me during my 6 day stay and Lesley-Ann’s manner of care and kindness was exceptional as was Lani’s. Ciro, Elizabeth, Beverley, Sushma, Nisa and the rest of the ward staff who were involved with me were all so kind and reassuring. Thanks again to this excellent care I received and I am recovering well at home.

The staff were very organised from the introduction to my room to meeting the anaesthetist and consultant on the day of surgery. Explaining what to expect before and after the procedure. Everything was explained, staff seemed very happy and enthusiastic in their work and were always smiling and caring. They were not bothered if I needed to use the room bell. I was made to feel so comfortable and relaxed. I didn't have any concerns.

From the onset when I arrived, the receptionists were very welcoming. I was called to my room and made to feel comfortable. It was precision there after. Everyone involved in my care know there tasks, everything was seamless and I was out of the hospital with good feeling. A follow up call has been made to check on my progress since discharge. All the staff from reception to clinicians all seem to be a small family whose aim is about the wellbeing of thier patients. All very professional. Thank you for your care.
I honestly can’t thank Mr Bajaj enough for the care I’ve received. He’s incredibly knowledgeable but also very kind and approachable, which made a big difference to me. The surgery and my recovery have both been handled with real professionalism and care, and my post-surgery care at the hospital was absolutely outstanding. After a difficult experience with a previous consultant, he completely turned things around for me. I feel very well looked after and would happily recommend him to anyone needing surgery.
I had a pleasant pre-assessment session with my clinician, Kumba who was very warm, engaging and took her time to explain the tests she carried out and breakdown what to expect for my procedure. The timely information and perspective helped reduce my anxiety about the procedure and I had a very positive experience overall.
