My hand has been permanently damaged due to the GP refusing to see me for 5 weeks despite my repeatedly requesting an appointment. When I finally managed to get a doctor to see me they told me that I should have been seen and got treatment immediately, but there is nothing that can be done now.
After that nightmare I got private health insurance so it would never happen again. I am now shocked to discover when trying to use it that the GP has to sign a 1-page form before I can get private treatment (saying it's not an existing condition) but the GP won't do that for at least 6 weeks.
It's a 5 minute job, it would result in me getting treatment outside the NHS to no cost for them, and they still block me from getting healthcare. I cannot understand how it has got this bad.
Lastly, the AI receptionist is completely dysfunctional. It gets everything wrong, seemingly ignoring or not understand simple answers to its questions. Extremely frustrating and not helpful at all.
It's also frustrating to see they are using an AI to reply to these reviews. No one wants that. A pointless waste of money.
Returning to this surgery after several years away (due to my relocations), I was pleasantly surprised by the significant improvement in communication and booking processes, as well as the helpful and cordial administration and reception staff.
Dr Bagga was simply fantastic.
He allowed me to fully express my concerns, explained the potential implications and outlined some clear action plans for implementation.
For the first time in years, I felt that I was being properly listened to, especially after my previous frustrations with the NHS's digital/phone-only GP system.
I now recognise how that impacted my outlook on my health issues; I feel significantly more positive and optimistic due to having an excellent doctor to consult.
My appointment was perfect. On time and good doctor. The only thing that worries me about Lonsdale now is the AI receptionist that answers the phone when you call to make an appointment. I was unable to follow what they told me to do and ended up walking to the surgery to make the appointment in person. I'm nearly 80 so this is probably part of why I found it hard but older people are precisely the people who need to make appointments as well as people with disabilities and people who dont have English as a first language and all these people are going to be affected by the awful AI receptionist. PLEASE HAVE A LIVE RECEPTIONIST. Thank you
This is a lovely gp. I have recently moved from another practice - I'm an anxious person, but Serena welcomed me with such a warm and friendly smile, I immediately felt at ease. Dr Rajawat addressed my concerns with professionalism and confidence. I know it'll be much easier to look after my health now that I've found lonsdale medical centre.
Good reception staff. Missed my telephone (away from phone) appointment, rang back and staff left message to call me back - well done. Also have missed appointment in past due to health issues and once explained they were understanding and rebooked me. Much improved in recent year. Would be happy to work here if I was looking for work. Doctors are good (not had any issues), considering NHS is short staffed in all areas. I wish Doctors and Nurses Ran the NHS they would do much better than Politicians and Managers in all likelihood!
Diabolical
I’ve seen this dr 3 times now I think in absolute desperation-2 times for blistering nappy rash which I was advised just needed to apply cream etc - turns out it was a milk protein allergy.
This time I asked for referral to paediatrician and she offered me an urgent referral which she said could take up to 6 weeks - feeding is a basic requirement of life and cannot wait six weeks so i asked her as a mum what would u do, she said keep going to a&e until ur heard? It’s not an acceptable level of care and when I said she had diarrhoea and showed her, she said oh no that’s not diarrhoea and basically I begged her to note that there was a change in bowel habbit. I feel totally misheard and like my child is being let down and I’m still waiting for a referral to the feeding clinic from another visit to another dr too. Reception has told me to continue to wait. This child needs help and i would really appreciate someone today contacting us to make a more safe and appropriate plan.
I was seen by the doctor very promptly. It was only 5 minutes after my appointment time, so waiting time was minimal. The doctor was very helpful and gave me excellent advice.
I had an incredible response from the receptionist, the doctor and the nurse.
The receptionist listened to my symptoms and got me an speedy Dr's appointment.
Everyone was super efficient.
I'm very happy to be treated so kindly.
