I had my 1st baby here last week. The service was absolutely amazing and all midwives, doctors and consultant on delivery suite are all so caring and helpful. Especially Cataline(sorry if wrong spell) was brilliant. I couldn’t get through my labour without her. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have no complaint for this hospital😌
Sooner it's closed down the better. Abysmal lack of care and regard for women's health. Early pregnancy unit/emergency line not fit for purpose and no accommodation for women with disability. You won't find compassion or safe care here
I sought care at another hospital. The reasonable adjustments I requested were arranged without difficulty within minutes, demonstrating that a practical solution was available, this hospital is just clueless and staff lack common sense. The lady who answered the phone sounded like she was eating whilst talking to me 🤢 and was extremely patronising
My daughter Sophie had her first baby, a boy, at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital on Monday and we could not fault the midwives, doctors and staff there. They were absolutely amazing, caring and so supportive. There was a delay getting a bed at the initial stage but that was down to factors outside of their control. A big thank you to you all - too many to name, but you know who you are 😘
My GP referred me to the Gynaecology department at the liverpool womens hospital in November. After various tests I was diagnosed with cancer. February 2nd I was admitted and had a full hysterectomy and went home on the 3rd. I cannot fault a thing about the Gynaecology for the care I have received from reception staff, nurses, surgeon and theatre staff, Lorraine who kept me going with cups of tea every single person there involved in that department. It was definitely a 5 star experience as far as I am concerned. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone member of staff you where amazing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Do not have your baby here unless you are comfortable with giving birth in a hospital with no intensive care unit for women and very few units of blood in house to give women (in case of a life threatening bleed).
The quality and safety of care has been poor on several occasions, showing deep systemic issues, and not just one or two unlucky encounters. There are some staff members doing their very best in this fragile hospital trust, and I applaud them. But overall, the care can be very unsafe. There is a reason why the CQC has ranked the Safe domain as “requires improvement” for this hospital in its last inspection.
I have experienced numerous (and some life threatening) problems with antenatal care and postpartum care. These include a midwife failing to clock and escalate a bump measuring small, failing to organise a prompt growth scan, false documentation after causing injury to my skin, failure to consent prior to giving an intramuscular injection, failure to promptly investigate abnormal post partum bleeding (scan request was lost/forgotten by MAU), which ended up being due to retained products. I also experienced poor and unsafe management following a post-operative bleed, where I was left unattended with no observations done for over 7 hours after being stabilised after being resuscitated following the significant bleed.
I would choose never to risk having poor care in this hospital again.
Gynaecology Dept
I attended the Womens' hospital in July 25, to undergo a hysterectomy, after being diagnosed with endometrial cancer.
The care I received was second to none.
All staff were so professional. The ward was run in a very calm manner and nothing was too much trouble.
My consultant and surgeon Mr Hewitt explained everything to me in a most professional way. I felt at ease asking questions. He kept in contact throughout, until I was transferred to Clatterbridge.
I am very lucky to have had no complications. I have recovered extremely well, due in a large way to the expert skill and care shown by all at the Gynaecology Dept
Thank you 😊
I had my 2nd baby here last year and again the service was absolutely amazing. The staff on delivery suite are all so caring and helpful. Anaesthetists were brilliant, always calm and collected. Jill who done the top to toe checks was so friendly. There is also a phone line you can call and speak to the midwives which is so helpful in the newborn stages if you have any questions. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Best hospital x
I delivered my baby in Liverpool women’s hospital it was really great experience. Nurses, midwife, kitchen staff, student staff everyone were very friendly and helpful. They really helped me in my delivery. Time to time they give me proper medicine after next day delivery. Moreover kitchen staff also provide me best food on time. Every staff member is really nice and really helpful. I would recommend to every one choose this hospital for delivery.
