Most only post reviews when they've had a negative experience. There's no shame in that on their part, but it means recommendations come tainted. It makes user scores misleading. Places can look totally unappealing since all you see is the bad stuff. I need to say that I've only ever had a pleasant experience at LSMP.
Both my GP Sarah Graham and social prescriber Aisling Doyle have been dilligent, accommodating, empathetic and perseverant. They have both guided me through an extremely difficult part of my life, where I've fought tooth and nail to keep a roof over my head and my belly full. There has been no judgements made, assumptions made, patronising comments made - nothing but dedicated support.
The clerical staff handling appointment bookings have also been friendly and non judgemental. Answering each call with a touch of empathy. An authentic feeling that they actually do care about you, and want what's best for you.
I wish I could have this GP in my home town, because you're unlikely to find such proactive practitioners in most places in the country. Whoever you are, whatever you're going through - You deserve this level of support.
Dr Grice and Dr N singh are 2 of the most kindest and empathetic doctors i have met. They listen to your issues and treat you with kindness as a patient and not just as another case. Can not complement them enough for their help and support and professionalism. Excellent doctors!
Super friendly staff, always really helpful
I usually go in for blood tests and there's been times where they've offered for me to go in on the same day I ring up to book the appointment. (Tho blood tests only take 5 minutes so thats easier for same day appointments, but compared to other doctors I've been to this is the first place I've had this).
As someone who's trans I feel really comfortable here, they've helped me with my journey on testosterone. It was actually my gp here that noticed my gender clinic had missed me on the waiting list so without their help I may have still been waiting to start HRT
I've only had good experiences here I really recommend going here while you're studying
Dr Olivia O’Donovan is an amazing doctor! She is enthusiastic, compassionate, understanding, and very detail oriented! She provided great solutions to my problems. Definitely my favourite.
Amazing, would highly recommend! The staff at reception have always been incredibly helpful and understanding. If you suffer from mental health problems they will go out of their way to try get you seen, I have never felt like a burden under their care for any issue including physical health problems, which sadly hasn't been the case for practises that I have been registered at in the past. Also I found it to be a very inclusive environment.
Although all the doctors and nurses I have seen at Leeds Student Medical Practice have been incredibly helpful, Dr Lynsey Fielden has been a huge help. Extremely supportive, not once has she dismissed my symptoms, is really prompt about getting more information on treatment options and has always advocated for me when dealing with other services. Please pass on my thanks, Dr Fielden has done more than she might realise to help me over the past 2 years : )
I would really recommend any student in Leeds to come here, staff will look after you and help the best they can. Thank you again!
There are some great doctors here, but you have to come many times until you find the one. My doctor now, she is our angel, and the only one who knew what to do with me. I had some rude comments of someone on the staff about a situation but in general I had good doctors and great nurses.
A credit to the NHS.
I have been with LSMP since I was an 18 year old student and whilst it was rocky at first I got taken by a particular GP and despite many severe challenges their mental health support has genuinely saved my life.
The NHS is severely underfunded and with limited resources and the resilience of the team they have supported me through and I have beaten the odds and I have just celebrated my 25th birthday, with a stable job and living environment and I am so thankful to Dr Adam Grice, who is a credit to the NHS, and the LSMP team who are kind especially in my darkest moments.
Thankyou Leeds Student Medical Practice.
While I have my occasional frustrations with this practice, they mean nothing when compared to the wonderful and timely care that I receive. I’ve never had an issue with getting a same day appointment and have always been face to face when it’s needed. Dr. Roscoe is a truly exceptional GP who really takes her time to listen and select care routes carefully with you. She works with you and explains things at a level that you can understand. This is a genuinely good medical practice!
