We were referred as an emergency and very surprised they closed at 7 We were seen across 2 days Very hot and crowded -as you expect Wait time fluctuates between 3 & 7 hours. Again, with a heavy heart, as expected Staff interaction and level of care amazing.... as hoped but not expected. Thank you You made us feel safe and important and kept us central to care and took time to explain things thoroughly. Signage to thr centre not great but taxis got there without a problem. Parking was plentiful and right outside the door

It is unfortunate that the city's eye hospital is located in an area blighted by busy roads some of which are strewn with litter. The carpark is inadequate. During our visit a patient arrived saying he was struggling to find a space he was told that he would miss his appointment if he was late. Of course one has to pay for parking. Fortunately we had an appointment and in fairness there was no delay. The staff members both medical and auxiliary are excellent. They work under dreadful conditions. The queue for emergency treatment extended beyond the door. Surely an indication that there is insufficient provision. There are too few toilets for the numbers attending. The café is reasonable and the seating area for those with appointments is quite comfortable. If you are travelling from any distance be sure to allow plenty of time. It would also be sensible to be driven so that parking difficulties could be obviated

Attended the Emergency Department 14/5/26 having suffered for 24 hours with something that had entered my eye but which I was unable to remove. There was a 5 minute wait at Reception then probably no more than 15 mins waiting for initial triage, then a second triage 10 mins later and then less than half an hour before I saw a medic who very professionally extracted the foreign body in less than 10 mins. Then I was on my way. All staff were courteous, professional and efficient. I was very impressed!

I received outstanding care at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre. A special thank you to Mr Aralikatti, Dr Xu, Dr Shah, and nurses Rachel, Marge, and Cecilia on the eye ward, for their kindness, professionalism and excellent care throughout my treatment. Everyone was attentive, reassuring and made me feel comfortable at every stage. The level of service and compassion shown by the whole team was truly amazing. I am very grateful for the care I received and would highly recommend the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre.

Told to come up for my 14 yr old as hes having problems with his eyes while waiting for an emergency appointment. So waited 20 minutes just to be seen by reception staff as they were busy talking and walking around . Onto triage , we were lucky and went into a room and not just on a chair by reception like others , in there for 20 seconds if that . Great onto the next , nurse looks into his eyes then tells us to sit on green chairs by reception. And 6 hours later that's where we still are ... If we ask how much longer we are met with rude abrupt reception staff telling us there " loads" in front of us . I wouldnt mind but no one around us seems to be being called in . A day off school for what we are told was an emergency trip to eye A&E and its just a wasted day . Yes I know hospitals are in a bad way but this one is a mess , its dirty , dated and most of the staff are rude

I attended today as a routine appointment for my husband. We arrived early. The service from Vijay was first class and we were very happy with the professional service we always receive so we greatly appreciate that. I was disappointed to spend over half an hour looking for a car park space even though we have a blue badge. Had we arrived any later we would have been late for our appointment. Finally we got a space but the experience of searching isn't good. We were able to park for free with the badge but an alternative car park for the overflow would help immensely.

I took one of my residents today. He had an eye operation. But the nurses here are very unprofessional. They don't want to cooperate. A nurse named Nargis. He didn't want to put on a gown before taking my residence to the operation theatre. Then I went to the bathroom myself and put on the gown. I have seen every nurse sitting on the chair and chatting without helping the patients.Attention should be given to concerned authorities.
