My mother had a gastric bypass surgery here in August 2023 and she is coming up on 1 month post surgery. Her Comments: My experience was great. We had a translator Onur, who walked us through everything since we didn't speak the language. Dr. Hanifi was very nice and would recommend him for your surgery! If you compare what you'll save here vs other doctors you can expect a great savings with an incredible doctor. My Comments: I wanted to say a few things since I was there to be support for my mom during this procedure. First thing is make sure you have someone with you that is attentive and there to keep you smiling even though you aren't going to be feeling 100% after this surgery. It was very emotional for me to see my mom go into surgery but with many prayers and a great surgeon she didn't have any complications. She was able to start walking the first day! My help was in the form of making sure she was comfortable while she sat, being there to make sure she was getting up to walk enough in the day, and also to push her IV pole through the hallway as she focused on her steps. I would recommend bringing your own robe or dress that can be put on knowing that you can't get one arm into it since the IV is constantly running. If you care about the TV only having 5 channels in Turkish I would recommend bring a laptop where I streamed all my mom's favorite shows for her to watch. And when her stay in the hospital is over be sure to stay active with the person your supporting, because once the IV isn't there they have to stay HYDRATED. Its ok to not be perfect since the diet is very strict and limited, but the time moves fast. Bring slippers or easy shoes to wear to walk around the hospital. They do have a restaurant downstairs that really good and a coffee shop open 24/7. If you are coming to Turkey try and stay for awhile. Even though my mom had major surgery we were still able to walk around and explore this beautiful country. Also if you have a credit card most places including the hospital only take VISA and Mastercard, so you don't get yourself stuck with a Discover card like I did.

I had a mini gastric bypass done in May 2022 with Dr Hanifi and I cannot recommend him enough. My surgery went perfectly my scars are very neat and minimal, aftercare post surgery was great I felt very safe and reassured during the whole process, even months after surgery if I needed anything Dr Hanifi answered personally and very quickly. I am now 10 months post op my health has improved massively thanks to the weight loss and I really have been given a new lease of life and I cannot thank Dr Hanifi enough for that. If you’re considering having surgery I would highly recommend Dr Hanifi.
