Patient reviews

The clinic is terrible at patient care. Three times I had several issues requesting a recurring prescription. The attendants are rude and acted as if they were doing the patients a huge favour. I paid the fee for the medication twice, once I partially received the prescription as an "emergency dose" and the second time it was refused, due to my fault, and if I had not called to inquire about my fee the payment would not have been returned or compensated. All of this with poor customer service. I had two appointments with different doctors. On my first appointment the doctor followed the same pattern of poor service, she was rude, interrupted me and invalidated my request. My second consultation was with a different doctor and he was complete different from first one. A patient and welcoming doctor who explained all his concerns about my situation and made me fell very comfortable. I also had a cervical exam which went very well, the nurse was very professional and welcoming. In conclusion, there are great healthcare professionals at this clinic, but the service is so bad that if it weren't for the easier location for me, I wouldn't try again.

UPDATE: THIS IS MORE UNFAIR ON MY PART AS A PATIENT! At some point in my pregnancy I had a Thyroid problem and I want to follow up with Dr. Collins but he wasn’t available so, I was assigned to another doctor. At that time I had no choice because it was crucial. I told this doctor if I will take the medication with the thyroid level that I have, she said no but when I said I was pregnant, she said yes. Do you get my point? I have a record in you clinic, how could she give me advise without knowing my history? Do you understand the gravity of this matter? Be EMPATHETIC to your patients. Did you understand my review? Why don’t you don’t allow booking an appointment with the doctor of my choice? Do you mean he is not as competent as the other GP? I was looked after by Dr. Collins throughout my pregnancy and he was amazing and what I am asking is that why can’t I consult with him for post natal check for continuity of care? You just assigned me to a different doctor because she is in the field of maternity, are you saying Dr. Collins wont be able to do what she can do? Why is there still an option to choose the doctor? I was able to booked an appointment under Dr. Collins a week before this incident happened and this one time my code didn’t work, you forcefully assigned me to a different doctor? Clinic REFUSED to let me choose the GP for Maternity and Infant Scheme. I don’t understand why my baby can’t be checked by my current GP for continuity of care? How if I am not happy with the services provided by the new GP I was FORCED to schedule an appointment to, will I be stuck with her then? They are all General Practitioners anyway. Should have mentioned in your website that some of your GPs are NOT SKILLED enough in maternity care. I was happy with the services being provided by my CURRENT GP in this clinic throughout my pregnancy, which is the only reason why I have positive experience here BEFORE, but now, the RECEPTIONIST claimed that there is only one GP who is looking after maternity patients and I have no choice!

I was shocked that the first review on here was praising Dr. Cesyl Hernandez! She was honestly the worst GP I have ever dealt with. If she had stopped an examine me for just a second she would of notice I was suffering from a very bad throat infection and ear infection. Instead of having to pay another GP two days later to get antibiotics that I needed two days before. She might of been having a bad day, but her attitude was shocking. The receptionist was a darling, very professional and help me find an appointment the day before. Also the nurse was amazing, she took my blood sample at the time I was schedule super fast an efficient. I’m hoping I can find another GP cause with Dr. Cesyl Hernandez I will not go back.

Awful experience. I felt like they just wanted to take my money. I've literally spent 5 minutes inside the surgery (if less), with no positive outcome of what my main discomfort was. I felt like the doctor just wanted me out, no interest shown at all, and It's not the first time this happens. The doctor advised me to watch youtube videos???? So unprofessional. They should learn to take care of patients and be more empathetic. The lack of human quality was huge.

Very unprofessional service, I would not recommend it to a friend. Back in autumn I called this medical centre to get help with sleeping problems. First, the receptionist was rude, openly annoyed with the questions that I was asking. Then, I received a phone consultation with a GP. The doctor was rude as well and clearly uncompassionate as I could hear the sarcasm in some of his responses. After a quick discussion he prescribed pills that weren't suitable for my condition. I had to find help in other clinic. They lack in customer service and it was a complete waste of €50.

I want to share my very negative experience so that others might avoid it. Yesterday I decided to do a consultation at this clinic because I've been suffering with severe anxiety and panic attacks. Dr Cesyl Hernandez was the doctor who attended the consultation and was my first time with her. I can assure you it will also be my last with her, as I've never seen such an unsympathetic and incompetent doctor/person in my life. Aside from not getting a full understanding of my situation and symptoms, she's also been very rude in mentioning that she had other patients and she couldn't stay there for more time, which is not something you do to a paying patient. I also asked help about these hay fever symptoms that I was getting, which could be related to the stress and low-immunity caused by it, and I was rudely told that it is ONE PROBLEM per consultation, ignoring the fact that these symptoms and the anxiety might totally be related. Other doctors inside this clinic helped me with more than one problem in one single consultations, so Dr Cesyl seemed to simply not wanting to be there to do her job. And just to reiterate, you Dr simply don't mention that you have other patients to your current patient. Overall, not only Dr Cesyl was NOT helpful at all, and I had to spend 60 euro to get zero help, but it was actually a damaging experience, as I went away from there more stressed and anxious than before. For your sake, I suggest you that if you go to this clinic, AVOID Dr. Cesyl. Worst Dr in Ireland by a mile (I also lived elsewhere in Ireland other than Cork).

Very happy with my experience. After an initial negative experience & review of one of the male doctors, Maria got in touch with me, and was incredibly helpful, empathetic and apologetic. I got an appointment with a different doctor, Trish, who was absolutely fantastic and a great listener! I felt like I was getting the service that I had been promised. My initial call was during lockdown so the doctors may have been bogged down or stressed at the time, hence my rushed negative experience, but UQMC made it up to me and gained my trust back. :)

Very good exchange by email at first. I had an appointment very fast the same day. (By phone), the consultation was very quick, and the doctor did not really bother trying to understand and listen my issue. 50€ is a lot of money for a 5 minutes “check up”. I wont be coming back.
