I had a very disappointing experience at Stepaside Dental.
Before booking, I specifically contacted the clinic to confirm how much I would have to pay under my PRSI cover. I received an email stating that my Exam/Scale/Polish appointment would cost €15. Based on that information, I booked the appointment.
During my visit, I found the male receptionist (the gentleman with glasses) to be extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. His attitude throughout the interaction made me feel unwelcome, and he showed very little interest in explaining the process or answering questions about the treatment. Customer service was far below what I would expect from a healthcare provider.
I was also charged additional fees for X-rays that were not clearly discussed with me beforehand. At no point was I properly informed that there would be extra charges beyond what had been confirmed by email. If additional treatment or diagnostics were required, the costs should have been explained and agreed to before proceeding.
I have to say my practitioner which I had booked for is Madalina Munteanu and she did a great job. I am really thankful for her.
Overall, the lack of transparency regarding costs and the poor attitude of the receptionist left a very negative impression. I will not be returning and would advise others to ask for a full breakdown of all potential charges before treatment.

My concern is not with the dental treatment itself. As I mentioned, I was satisfied with the care provided by Madalina.
My concerns relate to communication, transparency regarding costs, and the way I felt I was treated during my visit.
Regarding the receptionist’s conduct, I can only describe how the interaction felt from my perspective. I found the communication dismissive and unhelpful, it was nevertheless my genuine experience as a patient.
I have no reason to leave inaccurate feedback. My review reflects my honest experience and highlights areas where I believe communication and customer service could be improved. I hope this feedback is taken constructively to help prevent similar misunderstandings for future patients.
Great experience at this dental practice. I was treated by Dr Tom O'Brien and his team, whom were very professional. Dr O'Brien was clear in his explanations, and made me feel completely at ease. My son also saw Dr Emma Blake, who was excellent with him—very patient and reassuring. The staff are friendly and the clinic is very well run. Highly recommended.
Really great practition. Dr. Munteanu does a great job. The facility is very clean and all of the staff are always friendly and professional. I'm a South African who recently immigrated to Ireland and I was a little anxious on my first visit, not knowing how the practices here work etc but they explained my treatment plan to me clearly to me and showed me exactly what was wrong with my teeth. I can definitely say their standard is way higher than what I was used to.
Nearly got a procedure done that I didnt need. Got told I needed a root canal done ASAP. I went for a second opinion and the dentist there was stunned that I was recommended to have a root canal simply by the dentist here looking at an x-ray and not considering that I'm having other impacts on my teeth (mainly my wisdom teeth growing in). Literally was in for 2 mins at the other dentist and next thing you know I have no more pain in my teeth and I didnt need a serious procedure. Feeling no pain now whastoever. Nearly got scammed out of €1040, only paid €50 for this quick fix. Make sure you get a second opinion for sure, they seem quick to want you to spend crazy money!
I’ve been going to Tom for years and have always had a great experience. He’s welcoming, friendly, and always takes the time to explain things clearly, which really helps. He has a calm way about him that immediately puts you at ease. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough.
Great service, absolutely decent reception and the patient lounge had a child friendly setting, made our 4yr old feel completely relaxed and busy with the toys.
Definitely looking forward to many returns, hopefully not soon though haha
My family and I have always had a great experience with Stepaside Dental. I had Dr. Hamid again this morning and i could not have been better taken care of. He is a wonderful dentist, kind & really cares about his patients. I went in for a routine check up but ended up getting additional work done to protect my teeth due to some new medication I have started taking. He explained the impact this medication may have on my teeth and we agreed to proceed with some work to ensure my teeth would be protected. He was not pushy in the slightest and was kind enough I do the work this morning even though I was not scheduled for it. He spent some time explaining things I could do to protect my teeth in the long term and gave me some great advice. Even though getting dental work done is never pleasant, the whole experience was fantastic. Thank you Dr. Hamid!
I've taken my toddler son twice to see Dr Blake and both times she has completely put him and myself at ease. A kind, understanding and supportive dentist, would highly highly recommend her.
