I had a procedure today at South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital and I honestly had an amazing experience.
From the moment I arrived, everything was excellent. The staff at the entrance, reception, and throughout the hospital were incredibly kind, friendly, and reassuring. They made me feel calm and supported right away.
The medical team was outstanding. The surgeon was very professional, calm, and caring, and explained everything clearly. I felt I was in very safe hands throughout the whole process.
The anaesthetist and the operating room team were also amazing،so kind, supportive, and reassuring, which really helped reduce my anxiety. The nurses in the operating room and recovery were absolutely wonderful: very attentive, gentle, and caring the entire time.
Although I didn't get a chance to get their names, everyone absolutely everyone I met treated me with such compassion and professionalism.
Overall, it was a truly positive experience. I will never forget how well I was cared for, and I’m deeply grateful to all the staff.
I truly wish every place provided care like this. From the moment I arrived to the ENT department, the attention was incredibly fast and compassionate.
The doctor examined my throat because I have tonsillitis, and we thought there might also be a blockage in my tonsil. He was extremely patient with me, especially since I was in a lot of pain and could barely open my mouth. He also checked my nose, and although draining was ultimately not necessary, they still took the time to find a more effective pain medication and adjusted my antibiotic treatment.
I would especially like to thank Nurse Mary, who was absolutely lovely. She looked after me so carefully the entire time and kept encouraging me to try to eat something. She even personally brought me several options to help me.
I’m truly grateful to the whole team because I had spent three days in severe pain, unable to swallow or speak, and they genuinely made me feel cared for and listened to ❤️🩹 .
Very professional and nice people work in this hospital. My experience for last 25 years has always been great. We are blessed to have Dr Ireland a true gentleman and his team.
I'm in here at the moment, had a hip replacement on Tuesday, big shout out to all the staff from the porters to the consultant, everybody has been lovely ,positive, cheery and very attentive. While I hope I dont have to come back , it has confirmed my faith in the public health system. Big thank you to everyone
This might be an old building but we are so lucky to have it . It’s spotless clean and the staff are fantastic. They are very caring and helpful.
There are not that many car spaces so get a friend to drop you off if possible.
There is a small coffee dock outside.
I have been seeing Dr. Dias with throat related issues for the last number of years here and he has been extremely professional, open and informative - answering all and any questions that I had related to my diagnosis and treatment. I attend Mr Dias a minimum of 4 times a year and find his fees to be extremely reasonable. Maura, Mr Dias's secretary has always been so helpful in accommodating me with appointment changes, follow up appointments and making sure that I have all the information I need.
I had appointment in Xray/Ultrasound Department today with Jane she was extremely professional during the procedure but what makes her really stand out is her empathy and concern for my well being It is such a rare gift she is a real asset to the hospital
