I couldn't finish the process without leaving a review for this amazing team. Thank you all for helping me see so clearly without needing glasses. This month marks 3 months since I had LASIK, and it has truly been life-changing. Wearing glasses always bothered me because I enjoy sports, and even contact lenses were often uncomfortable. The whole journey started with Clare Hegarty at South William Street. Thank you so much, Clare, for your care and attention. As a Senior Optometrist, you gave me hope. At first, the process seemed almost too easy, which made me a little nervous, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. Thank you as well to Thomas Materman. Your clear, simple, and direct explanation of the procedure made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. Thank you to the entire Optilase team. Three months later, it feels as if I never had surgery at all—except that I can now see perfectly. I have experienced no negative side effects, and I am delighted with the results. Please note that this organisation has reached out below to ask me to email them - I have already done this multiple times and they have continued to leave me ignored. Whilst this organisation has a a high standard of optometrists and surgeons, their quality of service is abysmal. I have had appointment times changes without notice, conflicting advice given, missing consent forms, and have been left ignored for the request of non-prescription eyedrops. They have made the process of laser eye surgery so beyond stressful, I cannot recommend it to anyone I know. If you are nervous about this procedure and require attentive care, avoid this place at all costs.

Great clinic staff and all employee were very welcoming and lovely to deal with. Originally went to see eligibility for laesk and was told it could be 50/50 chance on needing PRK which is tougher and more expensive so staff gave support and direction on how to increase my ability to get laesk and come back in 6 month after to check again. Returned after 6 month and was eligible for laesk and had the surgery scheduled for 8 weeks later. Laesk procedure was quick easy and painless. Very helpful understanding and supportive in listening to what I wanted

From the day one of my appointment, every thing was very well organized and informative 👌 👍. I did my LASIK surgery this year and everything was really great 👍... My initial appointment was in William Street clinic and the LASIK was done at Carrickmines clinic. My vision became sharp in the very next day itself. There was only a bit redness for one day and it was gone in the next day as well...no further irritation or complications occurred for me.... The staff and the doctors were really nice and helpful... All the appointments and after care were well organized and planned based on my convenience.... The optometrist and the surgeon did an amazing job 👏....Thanks a million for the help 😀.... I referred one of my friend this clinic as well.... I truly hope everyone will be given the best care like that of mine as well... 💛 Once again thanks a million 😊

Excellent clinicians and medical staff delivered a life-changing outcome; however, I was let down by a very frustrating process when trying to schedule my follow-up. After about five phone calls, with numerous broken promises to make management aware and call me back, they finally offered me a follow-up three days after the surgery. When I mentioned this to the surgeon on the day of the procedure, he was mildly shocked, stating, “That’s just bad medicine.” He arranged an appointment for the very next day within 10 minutes. My advice is to avoid having surgery around holiday periods, as you may experience similar frustrations.

The whole process was smooth from start to finish. The consultation was clear and reassuring, and the surgery itself was quick and completely painless. My vision was already sharp the next morning. The aftercare has been excellent too, with regular follow-ups and staff who genuinely check in to make sure recovery is going well. I had a bit of dryness at first but it settled quickly. I can’t recommend Optilase enough, it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made.

My glasses has always made me feel self conscious to the point of not wearing them. I had my free consultation for eligibility with Rachel who was helpful and really put me at ease about the entire procedure. Elizabeth in reception was friendly and welcoming throughout each visit helping me set up all my upcoming appointments and fit me in for my surgery to meet my schedule. The day of surgery I was brought upstairs for re-scans. Paul did these and he was extremely kind. He answered all my questions making me feel at ease. After I was then called by Fiona who was assisting Dr. Tom in my surgery. I met Dr. Tom who ran over the procedure and answered questions I had. Fiona then went through the things to be mindful of after surgery showing me the three different eye drops to be taken and then helped me prep for surgery. The surgery itself was so quick. I first laid down on the chair and they dosed my eyes in eye drops which were to stop infections and aesthetic to keep my eyes open. Dr. Tom and the team began. It was such a quick painless procedure I couldn’t believe it was finished so quick. Already getting up I felt I could see better although a little fuzzy. Fiona guided me to the dark area of the reception while I waited to go home. The girls in reception had already called my dad and he was on the way. Sitting there I could already read the signs on the wall (I couldn’t when I had come in). Paul and Fiona came and sat with me for a second in reception asking me how I was and how I got on which was so nice of them. My dad collected me and I put my sunglasses on. It was a sunny day and I’m going to be honest the car ride home for me was the hardest part. Fiona told me my eyes would become heavy when the eye drops wore off. I felt the light from the sun in the car ride home was harsh on my eyes and my eyes stung. This was instantly relieved when I got home and went to my room which was in complete darkness. The first two hours my eyes were a little sore and stingy. Then this all faded very quick. No stinging. No pain. Nothing. All great. My eyes improving more and more as the day went on. I was nervous about the eye drops but set them up on my table with an alarm and it’s so easy to just pop them in. My eyes were quite red with two red dots on each side. I rested up for the evening and I wore my dark glasses they provided for a lot of the evening to really rest my eyes and by that night my vision was very sharp it was amazing. I slept very well with my eye mask and not once did I have to take painkillers. My follow up appointment was with Michaela who was lovely and stated I have 20/20 vision and my eyes look good. She also said the redness is 100% normal and is just bruising of the eye from the suction. My experience has been amazing. I honestly can’t thank the staff enough. Each and every one of them were so nice and welcoming and the liking to answer all my questions. If you have any doubts at all; I wouldn’t. Get it done if you can. I wish I got it done sooner.
