I had a very positive experience at the Patrick Fitzgerald Unit in Blackrock Health. Surgery is a vulnerable process, but the care I received made the experience smooth and easy. The staff treated me with such kindness that it felt like being among relatives. The medical team was exceptional. I want to highlight the work of Susan Hayley and William Robb. The anaesthesia team, Lauren and Niall, were professional and trustworthy. I also want to thank the nursing and care team including Orla, Nanyka, Alina, Rose, Katie, Savin, and Iyrin. The pre surgery nurses were also very caring and helpful. The clinic receptionists and the pharmacy staff on the second floor were excellent. I particularly appreciated the staff member who spoke Spanish to me. I am including two pieces of feedback for improvement. The staff at the commercial pharmacy were not friendly and their service did not match the high standard of the rest of the clinic. Additionally, there was significant construction noise from the floor above during both the day and night. This interrupted my sleep time. Overall, the clinical care was outstanding.

The day clinic has a notice board full of virtue signalling garbage about what they are doing to improve service. They schedule procedures but cannot be bothered advise when they are running 3 hours late. Time for the medical profession to be held to the same level of service as other professionals. If you run late, have the common decency to call the customer. We must stop supporting medical organisations which treat customers with disrespect!

Th staffs are good. We were welcomed with a nice gesture. We visited the ENT department for my baby, I felt that it was a bit expensive for the service or the time we get with the doctor. They charged 220 Euro just for a few minutes with the doctor. There is enough parking spaces. The hospital is maintained very well and there is also a water fountain ⛲️ my baby enjoyed it.

Brought my mum here, she has vhi, she had fallen and cut her hand. A few people looked at it and told us she might need a skin graft and because it was a Friday they could do nothing. So they sent a 92 year old woman to go and cue again in James hospital in A&E. The nurse was really lovely in blackrock so no complaint there but we feel they just pawned us off to someone else. In James they looked at my mum and said why were you sent here!! They gave her paper stitches and sent her home!! Why could blackrock not have down the same? She has paid all this money for nothing!!! My mum was livid as she is old and asked me to write a review.

My experience at Blackrock was infamous. The first time was with a vascular surgeon, and at the time I thought it was just "bad luck," so I let it go. Then, I had a very serious accident that resulted in the loss of 3/4 of my vertebrae. I was in a wheelchair for a while and, miraculously, regained my mobility. However, yesterday something happened and I became paralyzed, literally groaning in pain. I went to the Blackrock emergency room and the receptionist was extremely rude, asking why I hadn't gone to a public hospital, saying it was too late (it was approximately 4:20 PM!) and that I wouldn't be examined – and I wasn't. They made me wait in the wheelchair for ages to give me two tables that I could have had at home; they didn't even give me an injection for the pain. I asked to lie down and the nurse said it was pointless, as the doctor could arrive at any minute. Furthermore, they never gave me a prescription to relieve the pain at home. The doctor also asked, "Why was I there and not somewhere else?" In short, I spent 250 euros to be mistreated and continue to suffer terrible pain, unable to do basic things like go to the bathroom alone. This is absurd!

8 months of waiting on a call "any day now". 8 months of promises to call back. Once I was sent to a surgeon who doesn't do my procedure type then fobbed off back to the hospital that originally sent me without an explanation. Shouldn't exist in my opinion.
