We started our journey back in October 2025 in Serum and I initially got a hysteroscopy and a round of antibiotics, we left it 6 months before returning in April 2026 for our egg retrieval and finally went for our implantation in June 2026 . I had 13 embryos in total from my retrieval. The whole experience has been great and the clinic have been brilliant. I would highly recommend Serum, I went here as it had been recommended to me by other people from Northern Ireland who had been failed by the NHS. Our implantation has so far been successful (6 weeks) . The Doctors and Midwives have been amazing and explained everything in depth and they’re always an email away.
Wow what can I say. Firstly there are not enough words that I can use to say Thank you to the Serum team. From Penny, Dr Rafail, all doctors embryologist Tsangkalova all the midwives and receptionists, even the local chemist thank you all so much. You have made mine and my husband dreams come true. I will come and visit you all with the baby but just wanted you all to know how thankful the whole family is.
We have had IVFs in the UK and have been trying for 16 years. I heard about treatments aboard are advance so start looking into various clinics. But I knew from the first face to face consultation that Serum were different. They were not pushing to go to doing IVF straight away but in fact said we going to look into the reasons why it was failing. I booked my first appointment in March 2026 and found I required a Hysteroscopy as there were polyps that were shown in scan. Now I had this scan in UK with Create fertility and was told everything was fine and womb was fine when in fact that was not the case.
I went ahead with the Hysteroscopy and also PRP. Clinic were brilliant I was there for three days and they made sure everything was done before I returned to UK.
We waited for my body to heal and then we returned to have IVF treatment in June 2026. We had PICSI and other advance techniques to ensure we had the best sperm. Tsangkalova was amazing she explained in detail what techniques are going to be used to select the best/strongest sperm.
We manage to get 7 eggs and 2 were ready to put back inside on a day 3 transfer. We cross our fingers and hope this works for us.
I am now just over 5 weeks pregnant!!!
If you are looking for doing treatment aboard I could not recommend this place enough. They are very detailed in their investigations and keep you informed all the way nothing like the UK. It's not a money making place either. There was so many things we read on the internet that we would like to do however Serum explained it was not needed in our case. If they wanted to make money they could of agreed but they told us honestly that we were not going to benefit and save us money and time too.
The care and compassion made us feel these guys are our family and truly did everything they could. We were scared to go aboard but honestly this was the best decision of our lives. Don't hesitate honestly take the first step and contact them. They are amazing...

I travelled to Greece from the UK for fertility treatment in August 2025. I had not received any fertility treatment prior to this. Earlier in 2025 I had initial consultations with a few UK clinics. At the time I was 41 and had an AMH of just over 6 pmol/L. I had no known fertility issues, however the UK clinics had been quite negative with regards to my chances of becoming pregnant and advised I would likely need multiple rounds of IVF, high doses of medication and furthermore advised that IUI would likely be a waste of time for me. The resulting disappointment led me to look into clinics overseas. I settled on Greece and chose Serum due to the positive attitudes of the staff I spoke to during the initial consultation, reviews for this clinic, and the prompt responses to communications. Cost was also a factor, with treatments in Greece costing less than the UK, and the option to use the Serum sperm bank further lowered costs. I visited Greece for 1 week and was delighted to become pregnant following just one IUI treatment at Serum. In May 2026 I gave birth to my daughter at the age of 42, my first and only child, who I care for as a solo parent. Many thanks to my Serum consultant Dr. Nick, Penny, and the rest of the team at Serum.
I traveled from the U.S. to Serum IVF and have been there a total of five times, and I truly cannot say enough good things about my experience.
First, the cost—even when factoring in international travel—was significantly lower than undergoing IVF in the U.S., which made this journey much more accessible. But beyond the financial aspect, what really stood out was the level of care. The entire team made me feel like family. Every staff member—from doctors to midwives to reception—was incredibly warm, supportive, and genuinely invested in my journey.
I actually found Serum by chance through a simple Google search, and I’m so grateful I did. One thing that makes Greece unique is that IVF does not require a marriage certificate; you only need a notary, which Serum conveniently arranges for you. That alone removed a huge barrier for me.
During my treatment, I learned that I needed both a hysteroscopy and laparoscopy. My doctor, Dr. Mando, took care of everything and arranged for my procedures at a nearby hospital. What amazed me most was how fast everything moved. I initially went in for an egg retrieval, but when surgery became necessary, Dr. Mando asked whether I wanted to do it in Greece or back home. I chose Greece. She stepped out, made a quick call, and within five minutes came back with incredible news—I was scheduled for surgery the very next afternoon. That level of speed and coordination is honestly unheard of in the U.S.
Overall, my experience with Serum IVF has been exceptional. The combination of affordability, efficiency, and truly compassionate care makes them stand out. If you are considering IVF abroad, I would absolutely recommend Serum.
My relationship with Serum IVF has spanned 9 years so far because of the caring nature of the clinic headed by the most genuine caring founder and director Penny Abatzi. I first approached the clinic to do ivf and then some endometriosis surgery and hysterscopy and immune work up. The team were wonderful. The relationship this clinic has with local gynaecology hospitals nearby is a bonus. I kept in touch over the years and penny was thrilled to learn of our baby Sophie being born. I struggled with some major health complications with endometriosis and pancreatitis and recently reached out to penny for her knowledge and support. She arranged the best doctors in Athens to take care of me and a special price with the surgeries. She was under no obligation to help me as much as she has but she simply is a good person who wants to help others. I wish the doctors in England could learn from this women and her staff. Penny now runs a state of the art clinic which was a life long dream of her and her husband and it really is a beautiful piece of architecture and gentle environment to be supported during the stressful times of infertility.
I went to visit her last week and she met my daughter for the first time and my mother who had the opportunity to thank her with my father also for the clinics support. ❤️ I highly recommend Serum IVF
An absolutely amazing clinic. Every single staff member has been caring and made us feel like a priority, from the clinic owner, Penny, the midwives, IVF coordinators, travel department, the doctors, the clinic driver, the embryologists and the housekeeper at Serooms. As complicated as IVF is, they did everything they could to make it a smooth and seamless experience and this helped us to feel like we were in safe hands and in the care of people we could trust. The staff really care and I can’t emphasise enough how important those relationships and care are when you are going through such a difficult time with fertility. It’s made all the difference to our experience and as well as how advanced their knowledge and standards of care are, to me it’s been the care, support and relationships that have made our experience what it was. Their skills and knowledge, level of communication and organisation has been excellent and they really took the stress away from us as much as they possibly could both before we arrived at the clinic, during our time there and since we’ve left.
Serooms are the apartments next to the clinic, which are lovely; such a great space to stay during IVF. The rooms are spacious and gorgeously decorated and they’ve really thought about what you might need in a living space whilst you’re over there. Maria the housekeeper made so much effort to speak to us over google translate and went out of her way to help us and be kind whilst we were there.
