The 10 best hair transplant clinics in Istanbul

Published September 3, 2026

Flowing strands of hair and a comb, drawn flat above a low Istanbul skyline — a two-colour illustration.
An illustration, not a photograph of any clinic on this list — each clinic’s own picture is in the list below, taken from its own record.

Istanbul is the busiest city in the world for hair transplants. Our catalogue counts the city’s hair transplant centres in the hundreds, and the large majority of them sit above 4.5 on Google. So the problem is not filtering out bad clinics. It is choosing between hundreds of options that look almost identical and are all rated near-perfect.

This list answers one question: among the hair transplant clinics in Istanbul rated 4.5 or better, which have the most patients behind them? The bar on each row below is that clinic’s review count as a share of the leader’s — the quickest way to see what the order rests on without reading a word of the method.

Read this list differently from the dental one

A Google rating tells you less here than it does in dentistry. Most of these clinics sell a package: airport pickup, hotel, interpreter, transfers, follow-up over WhatsApp. A patient rates the whole of that. The driver being on time, the messages being answered, the hotel being better than expected — all of it feeds the five stars, and none of it says anything about the surgery.

That does not make the ratings worthless. An organisation that has satisfied thousands of patients has done something real. But do not read this as a ranking of surgical quality. Read it as a shortlist of ten, and make the distinction on the three things below.

The three things that separate them

Single-specialty or complex. More than half the centres here are also recorded in our catalogue under plastic surgery and medical aesthetics, and one under dentistry as well. A team that only does hair transplants does the same procedure every day. A multi-specialty complex may propose other procedures in the same visit.

Location, but not for the reason you would guess. Several of these cluster on the Basın Ekspres corridor and around Çobançeşme–Yenibosna. That is the medical-tourism logistics belt along the airport and hotel axis. If you are flying in, it is practical. If you live in the city it does nothing for you, and the centres over in Şişli, Üsküdar and Ataşehir make more sense.

Who the name belongs to. Some of the business names on this list read as search queries — they contain the phrase “Hair Transplant Turkey”. Others carry a surgeon’s name. Both are legitimate, but they say different things: one that marketing is central, the other that a person has put their name to the work.

Settle these before you fly

  • Who performs the operation? Who makes the incisions, who places the grafts, how long the doctor is in the room. Get it in writing.
  • Will the planned and delivered graft counts be documented? This is the most inflated number in the market.
  • How was the donor area assessed? Whether you will need a second session comes out of that answer.
  • What happens if the result falls short? Who covers a revision, within what window, and does it mean another flight.
  • How many days of washing and check-ups? Book the return ticket around that answer, not before it.

How this list was made

Our catalogue holds 453 hair transplant clinic listings in İstanbul. The 351 rated 4.5 or better on Google are the field; this list is the 10 of them that the most patients have reviewed.

453

4.5+

2,374

Review count sets the order and the rating decides who is in the running. On rating alone the top would go to whichever practice talked three relatives into five stars. On review count alone it would be the busiest clinics in the city, whatever their patients thought.

The clinics, their ratings and their review counts are read from our catalogue when this page loads, so the order follows the current figures rather than the date this was written.

What we looked at

Review count sets the order
A clinic's place on this list comes from how many patients have reviewed it on Google. The most-reviewed clinic is first. Review count is the one countable piece of evidence for how many people actually went there and said something about it.
The rating is a threshold, not a rank
A clinic needs at least 4.5 on Google to be in the running at all. Below that it does not appear; above it, the rating only breaks a tie.
What the rating is actually measuring
This caveat matters more here than in dentistry. Most of these clinics sell a package — airport pickup, hotel, interpreter, transfers, WhatsApp follow-up — and a Google rating bundles all of it together. A high score may be telling you the logistics were seamless rather than that the surgery was good.
Specialty from the data, not from the marketing
A clinic is only in this slice if our catalogue classifies it as a hair transplant centre with confidence. More than half of these also carry plastic surgery and medical aesthetics records — the notes below say which ones do only hair.
What we did not do
We have not visited these clinics, checked surgeons' credentials, verified graft counts, or audited a single before-and-after photograph. This is what the public data says — it is not an inspection.

The commentary is ours. The ratings are Google’s, and we do not adjust them.

The list

  1. Dr Serkan Aygın Hair Transplant Clinic - Istanbul Turkey — photo from its listing

    6,410 reviews

İstanbul, Merkez, İstiklal Sokağı 11/A, 34384 Şişli/İstanbul, Türkiye

In Şişli, and one of the few on this list our catalogue classifies as hair transplant only — so the team is not split across other procedures. Built around a named surgeon, which does not make the "who operates" question unnecessary but does make clear who you are asking.

  2. Esteworld Altunizade Cerrahi Kompleksi | Saç Ekimi | Plastik Cerrahi | Diş Estetiği | Medikal Estetik — photo from its listing

    5,964 reviews

İstanbul, Altunizade, Kısıklı Cd. No:7, 34662 Üsküdar/İstanbul, Türkiye

A surgical complex in Üsküdar–Altunizade. Its Google listing name lists four separate services and our catalogue records it under plastic surgery, medical aesthetics and hair transplant together. Expect more than one procedure to be proposed; settle at the start which team does what.

  3. Özel estethica Ataşehir Tıp Merkezi — photo from its listing

    5,901 reviews

İstanbul, Küçükbakkalköy, Işıklar Cd. No:28, 34758 Ataşehir/İstanbul, Türkiye

In Ataşehir, one location of a group with several. Multi-specialty again, and ratings are held per branch — read the page for the branch you would visit rather than the name over the door.

  4. Clinicexpert — photo from its listing

    4,651 reviews

İstanbul, Basın Ekspres Yolu, Yenibosna Merkez, Kavak Sk. No:3, 34197 Bahçelievler/İstanbul, Türkiye

Bahçelievler, on the Basın Ekspres corridor along the airport and hotel axis. One of the lower-rated clinics here; it clears the threshold and reaches this list on weight of review, which is this ranking working exactly as described.

  5. Turkeyana Clinic — photo from its listing

    2,957 reviews

    İstanbul, 40.984546, 28.904546, XWM3+RR7, 34020 Zeytinburnu/İstanbul, Türkiye

In Zeytinburnu, running hair transplants alongside plastic surgery and dentistry. One caveat about the record rather than the clinic: the address we hold contains raw coordinates instead of a street, so the location on the page says more about our data than about them.

  6. Natural Clinic — photo from its listing

    2,926 reviews

İstanbul, ATAKÖY 7-8-9-10.MAH, Çobançeşme, Yan Yol NO: 8, 34158 Bakırköy/İstanbul, Türkiye

Bakırköy–Çobançeşme, on the airport axis again, and classified in our catalogue as hair transplant only. One of the more direct options if you want a single-specialty team and to stay on the European side.

  7. Vera Clinic | Hair Transplant Clinic in Turkey — photo from its listing

    2,587 reviews

İstanbul, Kordonboyu, Turgut Özal Blv. No: 47, 34860 Kartal/İstanbul, Türkiye

Out in Kartal, at the eastern edge of the Asian side and one of the furthest points on this list. The business name reads as a search query; the rating is real, and worth holding separately from the impression the name gives.

  8. Asli Tarcan Clinic - Hair Transplant Turkey — photo from its listing

    2,546 reviews

İstanbul, Maltepe, Eski Londra Asfaltı Cd. Kale Avrupa Konutları No: 32, 34010 Zeytinburnu/İstanbul, Türkiye

A practice built around a named surgeon, over on the Zeytinburnu side. The address on its record is inconsistent between district and postcode — worth confirming the location with the clinic before you travel.

  9. HEVA CLINIC — photo from its listing

    2,504 reviews

İstanbul, Tatlısu, Akif İnan Sk. No:10, 34774 Ümraniye/İstanbul, Türkiye

In Ümraniye, and the interesting detail is the combination: our catalogue records it as both a dental clinic and a hair transplant centre, and its own site names both. Bundling hair and teeth into one trip is a common medical-tourism model — ask the doctor whether compressing two procedures into one visit suits your recovery, rather than assuming it does.

  10. Elithair | Dr. Balwi Hair Transplant Turkey — photo from its listing

    2,374 reviews

    İstanbul, Hamidiye, Cendere Cad. T 4 BLOK NO: 103 /3 IÇ KAPI NO: 1, 34408 Kağıthane/İstanbul, Türkiye

Kağıthane, and a brand marketed heavily to the German-speaking market. Hair transplant only. A concentration of patients flying in from one country can mean a busier appointment book than a local calendar suggests.

Questions about this list

Who will actually perform the operation — a doctor?

This is the single most important question to ask, and to get answered in writing. Turkish regulation requires a physician to perform the procedure, but how much of the work is in practice carried out by technicians is a long-running and well-documented issue in the industry. Ask the clinic directly: who makes the incisions, who places the grafts, and how much of the operation the doctor is in the room for. If the answer is vague, or the question is unwelcome, that is information too.

How do I verify the graft count?

Honestly, you cannot verify it yourself — which is why getting it in writing matters. "5,000 grafts" is the most inflated number in this market. Ask for the planned count before surgery, the delivered count after, and how the donor area was assessed to arrive at either.

Is Istanbul actually cheaper than a transplant at home?

Usually by a wide margin, which is why the city is the world's busiest destination for it. But the comparison only holds once flights, accommodation, time off work and the cost of a second procedure are in it. A transplant that needs revision is another trip, not another appointment — so ask what the clinic covers if the result comes up short, and get the answer before you book the flight.

How long do I need to stay in Istanbul?

Longer than the operation. There are washing appointments and at least one check before you fly, and the clinic should tell you exactly how many days that is before you book a return ticket. Ask; do not assume it is two.

Why are so many of these clinics near the airport?

It is not a coincidence. Several on this list sit on the Basın Ekspres corridor or around Çobançeşme–Yenibosna, which is the medical-tourism logistics belt along the airport and hotel axis. Convenient if you are flying in; no benefit at all if you live in the city.

Single-specialty clinic or multi-specialty complex?

They offer different things. A clinic that only does hair transplants has a team doing the same procedure every day. A complex that also runs plastic surgery and medical aesthetics may propose several procedures in the same visit — which can be convenience or can be a sales floor. Asking how many transplants the team performs in a week is the quickest way to tell the difference.

Can a clinic pay to be on this list?

No. ClinicPicker does sell placement, and it is labelled Sponsored wherever it appears — but it cannot appear here. Position comes from review count and rating alone.
